@listwithjeremy@WallStreetApes@Starbucks If it were true that they're selling an experience, a "splurge", then they wouldn't be so busy. Some high-priced experiences are meant to keep the population down so it doesn't get overcrowded.
@Dunquin2@catturd2 Yeah, that doesn't get said enough: Our parents knew more than we thought they did because the neighbors talked. We didn't get away with jack!
But also, it needs to be said that we, as adults, aren't legally allowed to push our kids or grandkids outside to play.
@SDDonovan I like them better than podcasts for getting things done. I know The Brave Writer and Read Aloud Revival recommend them for kids who are resistant to reading or on the spectrum because there are so many benefits to books such as vocabulary, tolerance, and perspective.
@SDDonovan I would definitely say Dragonlance, especially the books with Raistlin and Caramon, but I've talked to so many people with different views of Raistlin's personality and motives that something "true" probably can't exist.
@BoomerDivvies@midwestern_ope People actually paid to do construction? That's the "joke." Menards hires its dept. managers to do project management on major reconstruction projects, takes away their manager pay, then promises a bonus for completion they won't see because Menards keeps changing the project.
