I didn’t sleep that night.

The second envelope stayed on my floor until sunrise.

I was too afraid to touch it.

Too afraid to throw it away.

Because deep down, I already knew something.

The warning was meant for me.

Friday arrived.

The day I had been waiting for.

The day the old man told me to open the first envelope.

But now I had a choice.

Stay away from the library…

Or find answers.

For hours, I convinced myself to stay home.

I made coffee.

I opened my textbooks.

A small mark carved into the wooden desk.

A circle.

And inside the circle…

My initials.

A.R.

My name.

I stepped back.

That was impossible.

I had never been here before.

At least…

I thought I hadn’t.

Then my phone vibrated.

A notification appeared.

Unknown Number.

One message.

I opened it.

And my hands started shaking.

The message said:

But every few minutes, my eyes moved toward the envelope sitting on my desk.

Finally, at 3:30 p.m., I stood up.

I grabbed my jacket.

“I just need answers,” I whispered.

The library was exactly how I remembered it.

Quiet.

Cold.

Almost empty.

The rain outside tapped gently against the windows.

I walked through the entrance and looked toward the last row.

The old man’s seat was empty.

I wasn’t surprised.

I expected it.

But something about seeing that empty chair made my chest feel heavy.

I walked toward the librarian.

“Excuse me…”

She looked up.

“Yes?”

“Do you know the old man who sits in the last row every Friday?”

Her expression changed.

Not confusion.

Fear.

“What old man?”

I laughed nervously.

“The man who always wears a brown coat. Carries a wooden cane.”

The librarian slowly stood up.

“Young man…”

She lowered her voice.

“Nobody sits there.”

I looked behind me.

The chair was empty.

“Someone does. I’ve seen him.”

Until Thursday night.

Rain hammered against my window.

Power flickered.

The room fell into darkness.

A loud crash echoed somewhere outside.

Startled, I reached for my phone.

Its flashlight landed on the desk.

The envelope was no longer lying flat.

It stood upright.

Balanced on its edge.

I stared without blinking.

“No…”

Slowly, I walked toward it.

Maybe the wind had moved it.

Maybe I hadn’t placed it properly.

Maybe…

My hand reached out.

The paper felt colder than before.

As I turned it over…

I noticed something that hadn’t been there.

Tiny handwriting.

Faint.

As though it had slowly appeared over time.

It wasn’t on the front.

It wasn’t on the back.

It was hidden beneath the flap.

Three words.

“You’re being watched.”

A chill ran through me.

I spun around.

The room was empty.

The rain outside had stopped.

Everything was silent.

Then…

A knock.

Three slow knocks.

On my bedroom door.

“Daniel?” I called.

No answer.

Another knock.

I walked toward the door and opened it.

The hallway was empty.

Not a single soul.

Confused, I looked down.

Lying on the floor…

Was another envelope.

This one had only one sentence written across it.

“Don’t go to the library tomorrow.”

I forced a smile.

He stared at me for a moment before shaking his head.

“You know,” he said, “my grandmother used to say curiosity has a strange way of choosing its victims.”

I froze.

“What?”

He shrugged.

“Nothing. Just remembered it.”

I wanted to ask him if he’d ever heard of an old man who visited the library every Friday.

But somehow…

I couldn’t.

Tuesday passed.

I had never realized how loud silence could be.

The envelope sat on my desk, untouched.

Morning became afternoon.

Afternoon became night.

Yet every time I looked away, it somehow felt… closer.

I laughed at myself.

“You’re acting like it’s haunted,” I muttered.

It was only paper.

Just an old envelope given to me by an old man in a library.

Nothing more.

At least, that’s what I kept telling myself.

On Saturday, I slipped it into a drawer.

By evening, I’d taken it out again.

On Sunday, I locked it inside my backpack.

Before I went to bed, I checked twice to make sure it was still there.

By Monday, I had stopped studying.

Every page of every book reminded me of the last row in the library.

Every clock reminded me that Friday was still too far away.

“Is this seat taken?” I asked.

He nodded toward the chair.

“For someone,” he replied.

“But they stopped coming.”

His voice was calm.

Almost… sad.

For the next hour, neither of us spoke.

The silence between us somehow felt louder than the whispers around the library.

As the evening bell rang, he slowly stood up.

I expected him to leave.

Instead, he reached into the inner pocket of his coat and pulled out a worn cream-colored envelope.

Its edges were faded with age.

There was no stamp.

No address.

Just a single sentence written neatly across the front.

For the one who chooses the last row.

He placed it in my hands.

His fingers trembled.

Then he leaned closer and whispered…

“Whatever you do…”

“…don’t open it until next Friday.”

Before I could ask why…

He smiled.

Picked up his cane.

And walked away.

I stared at the envelope all the way home.

It sat on my desk that night.

The next morning.

The next evening.

Every day after that.

I wanted to open it.

I almost did…

But every time my fingers touched the seal…

EPISODE 1 — THE LAST LETTER

Every Friday at exactly 4:00 p.m., the old man walked into the library.

He never spoke to anyone.

He never borrowed a book.

He always wore the same brown coat, carried the same wooden cane, and sat in the last row, by the window overlooking the rain-soaked streets.

No one knew his name.

Some students said he was a retired professor.

Others believed he had lost someone there years ago.

The librarian only smiled whenever anyone asked.

“He always comes on Fridays,” she would say.

“And he always leaves before sunset.”

I never believed in mysteries.

Until the day he looked at me.

It was the last Friday before the semester ended.

Every seat in the library was occupied except one…

The chair beside him.

I hesitated.

Then I walked over.
