You know what? Where the hell is my DVD player? I’m ready to go back to buying movies, owning them forever, and watching them in peace.

This is crazy, a jailbroken PS5 can now play original PS2 game discs directly, without needing to copy the games to digital files first.

Modders have found a way to use the PS5’s disc drive to read original PS2 DVDs and run the games through an emulator.

But they’re not stopping there. Modders are also working on getting original PS3 discs to work on the PS5

So Sony could have made this possible years ago, but they never did, they preferred to keep charging users for useless remakes.

Sony is getting absolutely hammered over its stance on game ownership.

>First Sony announced that are killing the disc and going all digital

>Then They are arguing in court that players don’t own the games they buy, only have a license to access them.

>Recently modders have managed to jailbreak a recent version of the PlayStation 5.

Now fans are telling Sony they no longer own their own hardware, they wanted a full digital console so people are doing that exactly that

A new PS5 jailbreak has just dropped, and apparently the PS5 Pro is vulnerable too.

The new 13.60 Relapse jailbreak works on PS5 firmware from 7.00 all the way up to 13.60. The exploit was found a few weeks ago, but this new version gets around some of the restrictions from the original.

The people behind it claim that pretty much every PS5 can now be jailbroken, except consoles that were updated within the last week or so.

Sony is probably not going to be very happy about this one.
