America turns 250 today.
Let me read back the resume.
We started by telling a king to pound sand, in writing.
By 1803 we bought half a continent from France for about four cents an acre.
We fought a war with ourselves and somehow stayed one country.
We strung a railroad across the entire thing.
We handed the world the lightbulb, the telephone, and the airplane in about thirty years flat.
Then a man named Willis Carrier invented air conditioning and made half the planet actually livable.
You are welcome, Texas. You are welcome, Dubai.
Twice the whole world caught fire, and twice we showed up and helped put it out.
We split the atom.
We put men on the moon in 1969.
Then we went back and hit golf balls up there, because why not.
We invented jazz, blues, rock and roll, and hip-hop, and the whole planet is still dancing to it.
We put a burger and fries on every corner of the earth.
We built rockets that fly themselves home and land standing straight up.
We flew a helicopter on Mars.
We launched a car into actual space and it is still out there cruising.
We also invented ranch dressing and somehow talked the entire world into putting it on pizza.
Priorities.
We even invented three of our own sports so we could win them.
Baseball, basketball, and football.
Real football, the kind with hands, because we named it and we are not taking corrections.
The rest of the planet can keep soccer, which is fine, we are hosting it in our backyard this summer anyway.
And yes, Canadian football exists, wider field, extra man, one fewer down, and we try very hard not to think about it.
Frankly it was generous of us to invent our own games.
If we put all that energy into soccer, nobody else would ever lift that trophy again.
We would win it so often they would just rename it the America’s Cup and hand us the keys.
You are welcome for the suspense.
And in 2026 we threw a birthday so big a German tourist live-tweeted our gas stations to 750,000 people.
Not every chapter was clean.
We argued, we stumbled, we fixed what we broke, and we kept building.
That is the whole trick.
Two hundred and fifty years in, and we are still the loudest, brightest, most improbable experiment on the map.
Not bad for a country that started as a strongly worded letter to a king.
Happy birthday, America.

Happy 250th Birthday America
Over the past 25 years I’ve spent the majority of my professional life working for incredible American companies and with inspirational Americans. It’s a country I’ve admired since childhood, a representation of a dream established in a declaration which has resonated for two and a half centuries, a nation whose entire existence was predicated upon the pursuit of life, liberty and happiness.
I’ve never explored or experienced as much of the United States as I have this past year and a half, every week discovering new cities, new states, and finding in them all distinct and unique cultures, and making new friends and lifelong memories. At every turn, recognising something and somewhere so special that I could envisage creating a home, a life and a future here.
I may not be an American, but more and more I understand what it is to be American, the bonds that unite this great land, and the principles which have guided it since its birth. While still a young nation, a great one, and one which for most of my life has placed itself as an example of belief and hope, and in the power of the promise of freedom, justice, opportunity, decency and democracy.
A nation built on the pillars of sacrifice and service, courage and vision. One which sought always to better itself, for its children and future generations. Striving at every turn towards the foundational goal of achieving a more perfect union.
I may not be an American, but I truly love America and the eternal dream of all it can be.
You gave us the aeroplane. The lightbulb. The telephone. The Seattle Seahawks. Levi’s jeans. The Ford GT40. Twinkies. Twizzlers. The Beach Boys. The Indy 500.
And, more than anything, belief in the American Dream

@g1ll1s@rknhd Do you actually think Elon musk is the looking at everything? He has people with exactly what you said doing it for him. Just because Trump says Elon doesn't mean Elon is doing. People need to stop taking Trump so literally.
@alphaINTEL best map rotation maybe ever if e-district is good, bm and sp are by far the best two maps. As long as dogshit Olympus isnt in rotation is a W in itself.
@turnabouttess I swear women are insufferable these days. Always hating on other women for their looks. Just admit your a hateful bitch. And sorry to tell you men like attractive women. It's built into our psychi.
If you were shocked by what you saw last night (as many of my centrist & Democrat friends were), ask yourself why you were shocked. Biden’s cognitive deterioration has been evident for a *very* long time: if you weren’t aware of it, or were convinced those claims were “right-wing conspiracies,” that tells you something important about the quality of the news you’re consuming & the institutions you trust.
Ask yourself whether it’s possible that those same outlets which lied to you about the mental fitness of the sitting president might have lied to you about anything else. Look into the Russia collusion hoax, the “fine people” and bleach hoaxes, the origin of COVID-19, Hunter Biden, the evidentiary basis for climate change policies or pediatric “gender-affirming care.” Seek out original sources & uncut video footage, instead of relying on the filter of mainstream media coverage.
Ask yourself this too: who is actually running this country? Do you honestly believe Joe Biden is in charge? Is the “deep state” a conspiracy theory, or is it a reality hiding in plain sight?
Last night was a sad moment for our country to see a mentally debilitated President, but it can still catalyze positive change & open minds that were previously closed. Once you see it you can’t unsee it.
For my own part, I will never fault a fellow citizen for coming to these conclusions “late.” It’s more valuable to unite around the truth than to gloat over who was right first. We’re all human, we’ve all been wrong & been misled before, but we are best off as a nation if we can openly admit it and improve in the future. We’ll have our opportunity to do that this November & beyond.
.@realDonaldTrump is going to win in a landslide. The country should rally around Trump and help him succeed.
Trump didn’t expect to win the first time he was elected. As a result, he was totally unprepared. The lack of preparation, the Russia investigation and the ensuing chaos interfered with his ability to execute.
Now Trump knows he is going to win. So does everyone else. One of my biggest concerns was whether Trump could build a first class team. The good news is that very capable people that I know are excited to work in the new Trump administration. Trump will be able to start recruiting top talent immediately.
Trump will now have time to assemble a first class team. He will be a much better president with the benefit of experience, by surrounding himself with a better team, and without the distractions that interfered with his presidency.
The best thing we can do as citizens is support our next president. We need to align the country around our nation’s leader. We have grave global threats we need to deal with and challenging economic times fast approaching.
The abortion issue has been a critical one for many Americans. Trump’s message tonight on abortion should be comforting to many of these voters.
Trump made clear that he would not challenge the abortion pill and would leave the issue to the states. He also said he approved of abortion in the instance of rape, incest and risk to the mother’s life.
Trump came across as strong and reasonable on the important issues. He didn’t respond to Biden’s attacks.
Let’s bring the country together. Our divisiveness is killing us.
And yes, someone needs to take the Democratic leadership behind the woodshed.
