The biggest and most profitable Ugandan tourism and hotel businesses generally maintain a low public profile.
Most of you have probably never heard of them. You certainly don't see much of them on social media.
(Just saying...)
This morning, accompanied by the Regional Internal Security Officer, officers from CID, and the State House Anti-Corruption Unit, we conducted an unannounced inspection at Busiu Health Centre IV, the largest health facility in Mbale District.
I commend Dr. Mawumbe Bernard, Dr. Balayo Isa Mustafa, the midwives, nurses, and all health workers I found on duty. Your dedication and commitment to saving lives are truly appreciated.
Our inspection revealed that Busiu Health Centre IV is overwhelmed by the growing number of patients. The facility urgently requires expansion, additional health workers, and more medical equipment to improve service delivery and meet the healthcare needs of the people.
Access to quality healthcare is a constitutional right of every Ugandan. The Ministry of Local Government will work closely with the Ministry of Health and other stakeholders to ensure this critical facility receives the support it deserves.
To all public servants serving with integrity, thank you. To those who neglect their duties or misuse public resources, be warned: our unannounced inspections will continue. Every Ugandan deserves efficient, accountable, and people-centred public services.
Together, let us build a cleaner, more transparent, and more effective local government system.
Barugahara Balaam Ateenyi
Minister of Local Government
You can't insult and threaten diplomats, cancel contracts, declare diplomats persona non grata, stiffle judicial independence, mock people being tortured...on X and you expect the imperialist to watch and cheer you on? Anyways, who needs their tourists? Our oil is coming!

Hon @BalaamBarugahar: The only way you can stop me from the inspections is by amending the law to say that a Minister must sit in office and take tea.
