hi, now i’m a university dropout! academia was not a good place, but i’m happy to say that languages are still my great passion and i’ve got a small but quite successful business in language teaching ;)
learning japanese is by far the most humbling experience in my life
i’ve always considered myself a quick learner but you just cannot be a quick japanese learner
the learning curve is crazy and i lowkey like this
@souiamr it is definitely now easy because you start completely from scratch. when you learn, let’s say, french as an english speaker, you learn to read and understand a lot already, whereas with japanese it just doesn’t make sense for a long time. but it a lot of fun, i promise!
have just got back here to get some motivation to continue with language learning... i'm not burnt out but i started to work and it kills me though i love my job
@qiangriche im sure you're doing great!! mistakes are an indispensable part of language learning! they often happen when you're trying to put to use a new structure or a word, which means that you experiment with a language and explore it ^^ good luck with ur chinese studies <з
in fact devoting that much time to languages took its toll on my life
i sacrifice a lot of things including my physical health
im always forgetting to eat, drink water or go to sleep because im glued to my laptop and language textbooks
but yeah im consistent with it🤩
every time when somebody asks me how i manage to make time for languages and study consistently i have no idea what to say
because like....... im autistic, mate, languages are my special interest
do u wanna get any advice from me? idk try to be born autistic
@classicably_ я только поступила, поэтому это будет первый год в общежитии... мне остается только надеяться, что условия будут относительно неплохими (хоть бы без тараканов хоть бы без тараканов хоть бы без тараканов)
this summer i've been studying english for 212 hours. i wish i had spent more time studying french, though. but i'm still kinda proud of it, because now i can finally devote more time to other languages and stop worrying about my english!
