Many people ask me: "Mate, how do you chart? How is the process if I want to start from a naked chart?"
Time to drop the whole framework with the hope that you may find interesting ideas to apply to your journey.
Disclaimer: Before starting, it's important to remind that everyone has his own style and the crucial aspect is being able to find a methodology that offers the highest statistical probability over time, aka backtest, contextualized to goals/time horizons and time that an individual can commit.
(Quite long post, so if you're lazy "TLDR" skip it, this isn't for you -> but if you're drinking a Mojito 🍹on the beach, you have time to read)
- First step -
The first thing way before everything else is understanding the macro structure in order to have a clear view where the price is trending and thus being able to work on a strategy.
To do so I'm gonna directly switch the chart to HTFs, mainly weekly and daily which are my favorite TFs (monthly also, but after having made a "first touch-analysis") as they have more relevance than LTFs, of course.
From those TFs, the process is identifying:
- HHs/HLs for the bullish trend
- LHs/LLs for the bearish trend
Nothing difficult, this is the first and necessary step that leads to build up the main strategy.
- Second step -
Now that I know if the price is in a bearish or a bullish trend, I start to identify strong supply & demand areas where the price can be rejected or bounce.
S&D zones are more powerful than support and resistance levels as they provide wider areas, but this doesn't mean that S/R should be ignored but instead utilized as "2nd layer" once you grasped the bigger picture.
There are S&D zones that are stronger than other ones and they usually match historical and significant points in which the price has violently wicked or strongly rejected/bounced.
Take note as additional info that the more a S or D zone is touched, the weaker it becomes as orders on one side or another get absorbed -> this can change your overall perception and operational activities.
S&D zones together with S/R levels contribute to create the "main dish" which is completed by the "dessert" called Order Blocks.
OBs are zones where significant buying or selling from smart money, offering extra but valuable areas in which the price can reverse.
Bearish and bullish OBs can fail, there are no certainties, but being to properly contextualize them in an overall analysis can make a huge difference leading to profitability.
Not every OB plotted on the chart has the same relevance, most of them are weaker as they have already been tested multiple times, therefore increasing the likelihood of being melted like butter.
The process of finding good OBs doesn't only depend on looking at HTF ones, but also switching to multiple timeframes in order to find the best ones.
Weekly? Yes. Daily? Yes. But very often you can find good levels by switching to uncommon TFs like 2D/3D as there's liquidity contained in candles that are invisible to classic TFs.
Identifying and drawing these areas on a chart adds more clarity which is strengthened by the application of trendlines.
Trendlines are drew by taking into consideration at least 2 SHs/SLs but for my attitude 3 is the perfect number that validates a correct TL.
The 🔑aspect here is to not force a TL (don't chain yourself in finding one if conditions aren't met) + understanding that horizontal S/R are more powerful than diagonal ones.
- Third step -
Finding the liquidity.💧
This is one of the most important steps as everything turns around the concept of liquidity (more here if you're interested -> https://t.co/AIibrw2QM0)
Fair value gaps play an important role in my strategy, especially the ones who have never been tested, thus boosting the probabilities of seeing the price catching the liquidity 💧toward those areas.
Untested ones that find confluence with historical PA (especially areas in which the price has strongly reacted) are more powerful than "naked FVGs" that have less relevance.
As per the OBs, even FVGs might be evaluated on multiple TFs to find the best ones, meaning that if you find multiple confluences, those gaps become stronger.
In a strong trend, FVGs could act as supports if the body of the candle closes inside of them or the price wicks toward those areas, leading to continuation.
As a general rule, I tend to look for HTF FVGs in opposition of the trend meaning that, if we consider a reversal, the higher ones in a bearish trend and the lower ones in a bullish trend, will likely be more powerful contributing to attract the price over time.
FVGs alone don't tell you about the liquidity, they need to be contextualized to candle bodies in order to be effective.
- Fourth step -
The study of price action.
Once the chart starts to appear clearer as it incorporates the concepts we mentioned above, I start to monitor all the factors involved in the PA.
This includes:
- The candles (big or small bodies and when they appear)
- The wicks (where they spike and how long they are)
- Momentum & Dominance
- Closures above/below significant areas or SHs/SLs
The dominance is extremely tied to the concept of S&D, with SHs/SLs as points to overcome in order to see continuation/reversal.
Momentum, instead, refers to the "speed" of sellers and buyers.
The less it takes for a price to reach a specific level, the stronger the momentum from buyers or sellers.
The more it takes, the weaker the momentum for one side or another.
When the price closes HTF above SHs/SLs I know that could be a trigger for future continuation, usually preceded by a pullback, it's not "an instant shot".
I know, there are dozens of candle types (marubozu, hammer, hanging man, etc) and they surely help, but I prefer to move my focus on the bodies and on the wicks, as they can be enough to understand what is happening/about to happen.
Patterns?
Yes, the ones that have the highest probabilities like H&S/IH&S + 3 drives + ABCD correction.
Triangles? Sometimes, but more specifically to see if the price is compressing and can lead to a breakout.
- Fifth step -
Adding Fibonacci retracements.
I apply them on a macro scale and on HTFs, both to calculate retracements and potential targets for the future.
I use them also on lower timeframes as they help me to calculate small retracements on uptrends and assess where I could potentially take profits and reload lower.
Areas of interest are usually 0.786 + 0.618 + 0.5 (equilibrium), both for uptrends and downtrends especially if they match with S&D zones or FVGs as they become more powerful.
Extensions to calculate targets are another crucial part of my strategy, with the area of 1.618 + 1.454 + 1.272 that often helps me to find amazing 🎯
- Sixth step -
Finding confluences with external "noise" like news or announcements as they often happen when the price reaches a significant 🔑level.
Bullish news +🔑 HTF upside level -> sell
Bearish news + 🔑 HTF downside level -> buy
Price action always moves first, then the news comes out to "justify" the impulse and to 🪤 retails.
- Seventh step -
The add of potential indicators.
I don't use common indicators if not the Volume Profile that helps me to spot volume voids that matched with gaps contribute to attract the price or see areas in which there was substantial trading activity.
I often utilize Velodata for OI, Funding rate, CVD spot volume, Premium & Perp which help me to sustain the main thesis led from the price action alone.
The other indicators, for my strategy/idea aren't helpful.
That's basically the whole framework of my strategy and how I setup my charts.

I want to share some thoughts about what’s happening in the market right now..not just in terms of charts or prices, but in terms of people, emotions, and the brutal mechanisms that keep repeating over and over again.
Once again, we’ve seen what the Smart Money is capable of doing: for their own gain, they can wipe out hundreds, even thousands of people in a matter of hours.
It doesn’t surprise me anymore, it hasn’t for a long time but it still hits hard.
It’s yet another reminder of how naïve it is to “believe in fundamentals” in a world that runs almost entirely on speculation and liquidity.
Bitcoin, crypto, stocks..it’s all the same game.
Those who know end up crushing others.
Those who don’t, get crushed.
And only a small minority manages to move fast enough or think independently enough to survive.
What hurts me the most isn’t the manipulation itself..that’s part of the game, and we all know it.
What hurts is the human side: the people who just lost everything or almost everything, who are now frozen by fear, unable to act, unable to even click “buy” or “sell.”
These aren’t necessarily reckless gamblers.
Many of them truly believed, studied, and tried to understand.
They cared, they wanted to build something but now they feel broken.
That’s the tragedy of every market cycle: behind every liquidation candle, there are real people, real stories, and real pain.
From a technical point of view, yes I did expect a correction.
I had marked a potential top around 124–125k and a retracement toward 116k.
That zone represented a clear area of inefficiency, a cluster of unmitigated orders stacked there.
The market structure had been showing exhaustion for days: lower momentum on higher highs, funding rates skewed, and perpetuals showing too much open interest concentrated in one direction.
Still, I didn’t expect it to be this violent..to wipe out so many positions so fast.
What happened was a classic liquidity sweep: the market created a false sense of continuation, drove price above previous highs to collect breakout traders’ liquidity, and then sharply reversed, triggering cascading liquidations all the way down.
That’s how the Smart Money reset the game:
•They clear leveraged longs.
•They collect liquidity where everyone feels “safe.”
•They trap late sellers into the bottom of the move.
The market did exactly what it always does: it liquidated the majority, collected the liquidity, and reset the playing field.
This is the eternal pattern and it never changes.
The market first makes you believe the trend is safe, then it punishes you right when you’re the most exposed.
And when most people are left broke, scared, and out of the game, that’s when it quietly prepares to move in the opposite direction.
Technically, this kind of washout has a few implications:
•Liquidity has shifted meaning that, unless new structural weakness forms, price now has room to recover.
•Derivatives open interest dropped massively, cleaning excessive leverage and setting the stage for a more sustainable move upward.
So, while I’m not saying we’re about to make new highs (that has to be evaluated step by ste) it now makes more sense to look for long setups in areas of reclaimed liquidity, rather than joining the panic and shorting into oversold conditions.
That doesn’t mean buying blindly.
It means acting with logic, patience, and a cool head.
Remember: after massive liquidation events, markets often move into reaccumulation phases that look boring, flat, and indecisive..but those are the moments when smart capital quietly builds positions again.

20 life lessons that will improve your existence (as they did/doing with mine):
1. You won’t find peace by forcing people to understand you.
Half of them only hear through their wounds.
You’ll contort, shrink, reword your truth and they’ll still twist it.
Say it once and If they don’t get it, let the silence speak. Some people need to misunderstand you to stay comfortable in their version of the story.
2. You can’t outwork a feeling you refuse to feel.
All the hustle, the distractions, the “I’m just staying busy”, it’s anesthesia.
You’re trying to outrun grief, abandonment, rage but emotions don’t disappear.
They wait, and when they come back, they come back louder.
Sit with it now, or break down later.
3. Sometimes your body keeps screaming what your mouth won’t say.
The headaches, the fatigue, the tight chest..it’s not just stress, it’s repressed truth.
It’s the tension of carrying things you were never meant to hold alone. The body remembers everything the mind tries to bury.
4. You only chase people when you don’t believe you’re worth being chosen.
Read that again.
If you believed your presence was enough, you’d stop begging for breadcrumbs.
Let them go.
The ones who see your worth won’t need a reminder.
5. Becoming “hard to read” is not a flex, it’s a trauma response.
If no one can get close, no one can hurt you. Right?
But isolation disguised as independence will rot your spirit from the inside. Let yourself be seen. Even if it’s messy.
6. Stop explaining your boundaries to people committed to crossing them.
If they keep testing your limits, they’re not confused, they’re entitled.
And you don’t need to be polite to disrespect.
“No” is a full sentence.
Use it without a smile.
7. Love that feels like proving yourself is just unhealed rejection in disguise.
You’re not in love, you’re trying to earn a parent’s affection you never got.
That’s not chemistry.
That’s a childhood wound in a grown body, still begging for validation.
8. You didn’t ruin anything by walking away from what was destroying you.
Let them call it quitting. Let them rewrite the narrative. You’re not obligated to burn just because someone else likes the light.
Survival isn’t betrayal, It’s the beginning of freedom.
9. You are grieving a version of yourself that tolerated things you now know were never okay.
That version of you wasn't stupid. They were surviving. But now you’re awakening and awakening always costs comfort.
10. Your intuition didn’t lie, you just didn’t want it to be true.
The red flags weren’t confusing, you just wanted it to work. You saw the signs. You felt the shift. You just weren’t ready to choose yourself over the fantasy.
11. Sometimes loneliness is safer than fake company.
Being around people who don’t see you is lonelier than being alone. Choose solitude with self-respect over a crowd that makes your soul ache.
12. The world respects a man who doesn’t beg, doesn’t complain, and doesn’t break.
Because stillness in chaos is power.
Silence in rejection is dignity.
Resilience in solitude is strength.
The man who moves on instead of lashing out, who rebuilds in private, who keeps his spine straight when everything around him folds..he doesn’t need to scream to be feared.
He becomes the storm they never saw coming.
13. They’re not mad at you, they’re mad they can’t control you anymore.
When you stop being available to their dysfunction, the tantrum comes. Let it. A boundary is only tested by those who benefited from your lack of one.
14. You heal when you stop pretending it didn’t happen.
Denial is protection, but it’s temporary.
True healing starts when you stop minimizing what broke you and start honoring how hard it was to survive.
15. Your softness is not a weakness.
This world will try to harden you, mock your empathy, punish your vulnerability, but don’t let pain steal your gentleness.
That softness?
That’s where your power lives. Keep it sacred.
16. There are no parents who want a broke son. No woman dreaming of marrying a broke man. No child proud of a broke father. No sister who wants to lean on a broke brother.
It’s not about greed, it’s about survival.
In this world, your value as a man is too often tied to your ability to provide, protect, and produce. You may be kind, wise, and full of potential, but without money, you’re background noise in a room full of noise.
A man without money is a man without voice.
Fix your finances before you try to fix the world. Because without leverage, your wisdom becomes whispers no one hears.
17. Men often get hooked on the feeling of being at their peak: running at 100%.
When they experience this, it shows them what they are capable of. This taste of greatness makes it hard to accept when they’re not performing at that level. They know what they could achieve, and falling short of that can feel frustrating and disappointing.
This drive to reach that potential leads them to relentlessly chase greatness. The key to unlocking it isn’t perfection, but consistency. Potential may tease and flirt, always out of reach, but steady, consistent effort will eventually bring it into focus. The real challenge lies in maintaining momentum even when results aren’t immediate, and that’s where success lies.
18. Test commitment before marrying
Before you commit to marriage, ask yourself this: Would this person still stand by you if you lost everything like your status, lifestyle, career, wealth, and health?
If the answer is no, then reconsider.
19. Respect is earned through improvement
People respect you more when you're physically fit, mentally calm, and focused on meaningful goals. Physical fitness shows discipline and confidence, while mental calmness demonstrates your ability to handle stress with composure.
Focusing on purposeful goals gives you direction and determination, which naturally inspires respect from others.
20. Your timeline Is tours alone
Your life doesn’t need to follow anyone else’s script. You might not be married by 30, land your dream job by 35, or have a family by 40 and that doesn’t mean your life isn’t full, meaningful, or successful.
Everyone moves at their own pace. Society pushes timelines that make you feel like you're behind, but there is no “behind” when you're living a life that’s true to you. What matters most is that you're growing, learning, and becoming more aligned with who you really are.
Don’t let pressure. whether from others or yourself, rob you of the joy in your current season.
Life isn’t a checklist; it’s a journey. Embrace your path, celebrate your progress, and trust that you're exactly where you need to be.
