“Dhurandhar is no less a Bollywood masala film than Alpha” is literally a laughable take.

The teaser and trailer of Dhurandhar didn’t even reveal the story. So what exactly was “masala” about it?

And since when has a 3 hours 25 minutes or 3 hours 51 minutes A rated film, shot over nearly 2 years, become a typical masala movie? If it was just another masala entertainer, why did it become such a massive success, keep audiences glued to their seats for over 3 hours, have brilliantly placed soundtracks, and enjoy insane repeat value?

The “item number” you’re talking about isn’t even an item number. It’s the only lip sync song across both parts, and even that is set in a wedding backdrop and fits naturally into the story.

People like you simply can’t digest the fact that Dhurandhar honestly outclassed every other film in the genre and practically finished the cringeworthy Spy Universe, which had reduced RAW and ISI to working together in the same repetitive template for more than a decade.
