For decades, countless Muslim women suffered the injustice of instant talaq-e-biddat, where a husband could end a marriage by uttering “talaq” thrice, leaving wives abandoned and children separated from their mothers.

The Saira Khan Case, a landmark legal battle, exposed this injustice when a courageous woman challenged her unilateral divorce and the right to live with her children. The case was presided over by Judge Swati Chauhan, whose pathbreaking judgment laid bare the conflict between archaic practices and modern constitutional rights.

Today, that same judge is co-director of the upcoming film “Saira Khan Case”, bringing to the screen the struggle, courage, and eventual triumph of truth.

But this story would be incomplete without acknowledging the decisive leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who gave Muslim women their due dignity by annulling the regressive practice of Triple Talaq through the Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Act, 2019.

This film is not just a story—it is a reminder of how far India has come in protecting the rights of women, and how New India refuses to tolerate injustice in the name of tradition.
