@bathnes I can't even begin to express how upset I am about these changes and it is clear I am not the only one. We have so many pressures facing us at the moment, economic and otherwise. Why go ahead with this when they are being rolled back elsewhere? People are stressed enough.
@bathnes The thing is, I don't feel part of this "community." Though I participated in consultations, I had no idea that these changes were coming and they do not reflect my desires or the pressures I face as mother of three young children living my life in this hilly, wet, city.
@bathnes Every time I bring my children home from school or take them to the doctor, I will now need to drive a longer route through other neighbourhoods. My councillor told me that some drivers will, unfortunately, need to use longer routes but it's all for the benefit of the community.
@bathnes I notice that this news hasn't been re-posted ad infinitum like some of the other changes @bathnes has made to our community. The comments show why...this liveable neighbourhood scheme is going to block me from using Sion Hill to access my own home.
@SaviourTortoise@BathCA Why come at them like this though? They literally posted a sign? Iβm into it, for what itβs worth. Light hearted and a welcome gesture to those who are happy to leave masks behind now that we have the choice. π€
@StephenSumner15 To expand on this, I wanted to invite the council, in these challenging times where they are pushing environmental objectives and also health mandates, to inspire and encourage residents rather than harangue, guilt or shame them. See here at 21:10 https://t.co/tiXI1kzu2b
@StephenSumner15@CllrDineRomero This seems hard to swallow when you are spending money on other initiatives that seem far from essential, and you've just assigned a 99 year peppercorn rent for a council asset. Those decisions be attractive to you, but juxtaposed with essential services...
@landatthebottom@Wera_Hobhouse What a sad way to talk about forming policy in our community. I wish we could step into a new paradigm of leadership rather than continue to use language of division. The opposite of progressive, unifying, future-thinking. Not how I see Bath. βΉοΈ

@votedannorris Iβm disappointed by this statement. The fact that we have masks and some feel more comfortable moving through society wearing them are not compelling reasons to mandate them for all. Iβm not totally anti-mask if you have symptoms or work near faces. But not for all. Enough.
