@Steve_Sailer@mike_daddino My only thought when I'm that close is "anywhere on the green is fine" I can't even get my head around the variables these guys have to take into account.
@potatoslav Yeah, and who's fault is it if you're pleasantly chatting with a stranger in line at Starbucks and they leave the interaction cynically thinking "this person is just going to go about their day never thinking about me again after what we've just shared"
@YankeeSource Wells was such a good hitter when he was younger- wouldn't it make sense to give him a few weeks to catch a breath and work on some hitting tweaks down there? Wells turning into a league average bat would be a huge upgrade for the Yanks.
@asymmetricinfo@dilanesper I think that's the real problem- scoops don't come on predictable schedules. Interesting opinions, outside of a select few, also suffer from a similar problem. Lots of people made money off of one good opinion, but struggle to maintain the quality once that first well runs dry.
@BaldingsWorld This outcome was obvious and inevitable, BUT actually timing it was nearly impossible. I gave up explaining what was coming because I sounded like a fool with 8% GDP growth year after year. Fair enough though, my 'insight' was effectively useless for making money.
@tobiaschneider In every country in Europe it is very pleasant being on the above average side of the income distribution. Same in the US. So most of these comparisons are really dumb. Anybody with enough energy to fight about it on both sides is being honest- life here is pretty good.
@HamptonPrezcott The bigger problem is that they’ll see his appeal to common sense “naked homeless addicts pooping in public is bad” and decide the way to consolidate gains is to try to privatize social security or make abortion illegal.
@YankeeSource This drives me nuts about them. I’m sure guys play through all kinds of injuries, but he was obviously not right. They’re not winning anything without him being healthy so just IL him and let him get better.
@YankeeSource Whatever the short term impact, they aren’t winning in the playoffs without a healthy Judge. Let the man get healthy, something is clearly wrong
@wil_da_beast630 Well said, it's getting really old having to decide which side's crazies I find least concerning when it's time to vote. A little sanity would go a long way.
@Noahpinion There is only about 15% of the population with the brainpower to really need a college education (doctors, engineers etc). For most of the rest of us, we learn how to do the jobs we have and that's plenty for a really nice life.
@Ed_Realist Yeah, in my day kids would spend the vast majority of their time and effort making sure they could do homework and NEVER made excuses or feigned incompetence to create a plausible sounding excuse not to do it. Kids these days...
@YankeeSource I'd imagine he'd cost a LOT to figure out if this All Star level jump is for real and if it's not, he's a below average defender (1% on Savant!). The lowest hanging fruit is getting a catcher that's merely a bad hitter against lefties- Wells is unplayable
@PincherMartin8 It's amazing how tiny the difference between really good looking by any normal standard and "I'll pay you 100k just to take your picture holding my product" is.
@avidseries It’s like Trump. If you’re giving somebody like that such obvious and easy targets, then you should look in the mirror, not blame the electorate.
