Has anyone ever wondered why Do is called Do, Re is called Re, and Mi is called Mi? The story behind the origin of the musical scale is interesting and unexpected.

It all begins with a Benedictine monk who lived in the 11th century (995–1050), named Guido d’Arezzo. He noticed a peculiarity in a very popular hymn to Saint John the Baptist at the time.

This hymn was composed of 7 verses, each with a different musical note. For this reason, the monk named each note using the first two letters of each verse. Here is the hymn:

Ut queant laxis (Ut)
Resonare fibris (Re)
Mira gestorum (Mi)
Famuli tuorum (Fa)
Solve polluti (Sol)
Labii reatum (La)
Sancte Ioannes (Si)

(So that your servants, with free voices, may resound the wonders of your deeds, cleanse the guilt from our stained lips, O Saint John the Baptist)

Since the syllable “Ut” was not easy to sing, it was replaced by “Do” in 1640 by Giovanni Battista Doni.

Not many people in the world of music, today so far removed from God, know that the names of the musical notes come from a hymn to the greatest of His prophets. Happy Saint John’s Day!

La ville en a décidé ainsi sous l’impulsion d’une magistrate qu’un grand rassemblement populaire célébrant les valeurs et traditions helvétiques insupporte. Il y a quelques semaines encore, la cité se pliait en quatre pour organiser des campings susceptibles de recevoir les manifestants hostiles au G7. Aucune crainte des casseurs, qu’on sait friands de ce genre de rassemblements pour donner libre cours à leur furie dévastatrice.

Le monde entier était le bienvenu à Genève. Le monde entier, sauf la Suisse, manifestement. On ne célèbre pas notre sport national chez nous, pas plus que les valeurs qu’il transporte, engagement, émulation, effort, respect de l’autre. Tout cela, la ville n’en veut pas. Il est vrai que ces notions insupportent le Conseil administratif, qui promeut l’exact inverse, soucieux de s’attirer les bonnes grâces de sa clientèle.

Ce refus, aussi affligeant puisse-t-il être, n’est pas une surprise. Ce qui est, par contre, plus étonnant, c’est la passivité du Conseil d’État sur ce dossier. Le gouvernement représente le canton envers l’extérieur, à Berne notamment.

Il va falloir un certain aplomb pour aller défendre Genève sous la Coupole après avoir fait savoir que la Suisse n’y a pas sa place. On aurait attendu un engagement nettement plus fort, alors que les milieux sportifs et touristiques soutenaient un projet d’envergure nationale susceptible de mettre en lumière notre canton d’une manière enfin positive.

Mais non, il n’en sera rien. Il faut en déduire que le Conseil d’État n’est pas non plus un grand fan des valeurs que la lutte suisse véhicule. Et constater qu’il est nettement plus à gauche qu’il n’en a l’air. Ce qu’il y a lieu de corriger à la prochaine occasion.

Almost Five years ago I was a healthy, very active man in the prime of my life.

An artist by heart and soul who had traveled to over 100 countries, maintained peak health and fitness, and ran or hiked miles in nature almost every day. Simple, full, and free.

Then on July 21, 2021, I received the Moderna COVID vaccine.

I felt it the moment it entered my body.

Within days a cytokine storm triggered a rare neuromuscular disease and multi-system damage. I went from the ICU to six brutal weeks in hospital, and nothing has been the same since.

Today I am mostly bedridden, confined to my bedroom. I cannot work. I cannot drive. I cannot grocery shop. I can barely walk more than short distances on my best days. I have not left my house further than a quarter mile in years.

Every single day I endure ischemic stroke-like episodes, a partially paralyzed diaphragm that makes breathing a struggle, severe neuropathic pain, esophagus and larynx spasms, severe swallowing issues that make eating difficult, severe trigeminal and occipital neuralgia, crushing fatigue, dysphagia that turns eating into an hour-long ordeal, neuro degeneration and neuromuscular disease diagnosed as ALS unspecified, and waves of symptoms that force me to be bedridden.

Doctors mostly dismissed me as psychosomatic, anxious, or worse. One diagnosis I had to sue to have removed from my record. I spent over $60,000 chasing every treatment the injured community has tried. Nothing gave lasting relief. I became my own doctor , turning to sunlight, grounding, circadian alignment, nature, and my faith in God, which is what carries me when the body wants to quit.

For three years I have spoken out , documenting my journey, writing on X and Substack, calling for acknowledgment, proper diagnostic codes, real care, and accountability for what was done to us. I stand with every vaccine-injured person who has been denied, dismissed, and abandoned.

Yet suddenly the story has gone silent.

People are no longer talking about the people who became severely disabled after one shot. Support has dwindled. The institutions that told us it was safe have offered no honest accounting. No real acknowledgment. No justice.

The reality is that we did not recover when the headlines ended.

We are still here. I am still here.

Still mostly bedridden.

2026 has been brutal.

Still fighting every single day.

Still waiting for the truth to be told.

Jean-Baptiste est le dernier des prophètes et le plus grand des enfants des hommes. Toute sa mission tient en une parole : « Il faut qu’Il croisse et que je diminue. » Il n’est ni la Lumière, ni l’Époux, ni le Messie ; il est la voix qui s’efface lorsque paraît le Verbe.

Les feux de la Saint-Jean, allumés dans la nuit, portent ce mystère. Après sa naissance, les jours commencent à décroître, comme sa propre mission. Toute la création semble répéter son témoignage : l’homme diminue afin que le Christ règne.

Dans un siècle qui exalte l’ego, la visibilité et l’affirmation de soi, Jean-Baptiste enseigne la sagesse des Pères : plus l’âme se vide d’elle-même, plus Dieu la remplit de Sa lumière.

Demandons à saint Jean-Baptiste la grâce de disparaître devant le Christ, afin que Lui seul soit vu, aimé et glorifié.
