25 years ago today, the world watched in horror as the United States suffered the devastating terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
We remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost and honor the courage of those who responded.
We also remember the solidarity that followed, as allies and partners stood with the United States. NATO invoked Article 5 for the first and only time in its history, affirming that an attack against one Ally is considered an attack against all.
Warm congratulations from the South to President-elect of the Republic of Estonia Mrs. Ülle Madise. Latvia and Estonia are close allies, friends and partners. I am looking forward to further advance our bilateral relations and host you in Riga soon. 🇱🇻 🇪🇪
Thank you @IrishAmbVilnius for organizing the meeting with @Tsihanouskaya. European values are not only the core pillar of #TheEuropeanUnion but also the basis for us to support others in their surge for a democratic future.
“Values” are a core pillar of Ireland’s EU Council Presidency.
Thank you dear Sviatlana @Tsihanouskaya for joining @IrishEmbVilnius’s EU Heads of Mission meeting today to discuss democracy, accountability, defence of civil society & a future of hope for Belarus!

On the International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances, we remember the political opponents abducted and murdered by the Belarus regime, and their families denied answers for decades.
The regime tried to erase them. It failed. Those responsible will face justice.
One powerful story about courage of @Tsihanouskaya , Nadzeya and Masha, who found their voices and became central figures in Belarus’s struggle for freedom. But not only - there’s story of film maker @chajkouskaya and her journey from inherited fear to fearless resistance.
Congratulations, Volia @Chajkouskaya, on the @hbomax release of your film Not Made for Politics.
This documentary celebrates the courage of those who stood up against the Belarus dictatorship in 2020 and brings our fight for freedom to the world.

It was a pleasure to speak to a room full of ambassadors from a close ally and neighbouring country. Estonia's ambassadors' conference visited Helsinki today.
We discussed the ongoing geopolitical transformation, the influence of countries such as Finland and Estonia, an active foreign policy and the tools we have, our support for Ukraine, and the security situation in Europe.
Aitäh, neighbours.
Estonia strongly condemns the Lukashenka regime's decision to label #EU-supported EUvsDisinfo, SALT, and Education for Belarusians as "extremist”. We stand firmly with people of Belarus for their right to #freedom and #information. 🇪🇪🇪🇺⚪🔴⚪ #Belarus#StandWithBelarus
#Belarus: Statement by the Spokesperson
The EU strongly condemns the recent decision of the Lukashenka regime to designate the websites and social media of EU-funded initiatives, incl. @EUvsDisinfo, as “extremist information sources”.
https://t.co/hUSOeB1dpz
Lukashenka’s regime has labelled the websites and related social media accounts of the #EU programmes as “extremist materials”. This decision is driven by fear - the dictatorship's fear of educated citizens, fear of free information, and fear of Belarusians making their own choices.
By targeting European-supported initiatives, the regime is attacking opportunities for the next generation of Belarusians.
#Lithuania condemns this decision and demands its immediate reversal. Together with the European Union and like-minded partners, we will continue to support Belarusian students, independent media, civil society, and democratic forces.

Tonight, in honour of Ukraine’s Independence Day, the Ukrainian flag illuminates the façade of the Estonian MFA.

One of Estonia’s Greatest Generation has died. Siim Kallas helped lead his country from servitude & poverty to freedom & prosperity. It was my honor to have worked with him! https://t.co/kfluEK5u5g
Estonia mourns the passing of former Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Siim Kallas, who played an important role in the restoration of Estonia’s independence and the building of our free state.
Throughout his years of public service, he helped shape Estonia’s path back to Europe. During his time as Prime Minister, Estonia concluded the accession negotiations that paved the way for membership in the European Union and NATO.
Our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.
In #Tallinn , #Estonia I’m honoured to congratulate our Estonian friends with 35th Anniversary of the Restoration of Independence from the podium of @Riigikogu and just celebrate together the ideals of #freedom.
#Belarus Is Lukashenka weaker than he looks? I'm glad @TVPWorld_com used this question as the headline for the video. Six years after the rigged elections, the regime is still arresting people. Lukashenka feels threatened. Watch my latest interview.

Six years ago, Belarusians peacefully stood up for their right to determine their own future. The Lukashenka regime responded with repression and has not changed course.
We will continue to support Belarusians in their pursuit of freedom and democracy.

Six years ago, Belarusians voted for freedom. The dictator stayed in power only because Putin saved his regime.
Today, I ask you to #StandWithBelarus and show your solidarity with the Belarusian people.
Together, we'll finish what we started in 2020 and make sure freedom wins.
Europe has not forgotten Belarus.
Six years after the stolen election, repression continues, but so does European support for our people.
I welcome the 🇪🇺’s clear commitment to accountability and to a free, sovereign Belarus as part of a peaceful and prosperous Europe.
Freedom cannot be silenced. The future of Belarus belongs to its people.
Every day, Belarusians demonstrate extraordinary courage in defending their right to determine their own future.
Estonia stands firmly with the democratic forces working for a free, democratic, and sovereign Belarus under the leadership of @Tsihanouskaya .
