This message promotes awareness on the importance of having a balanced diet, essential nutrients and healthy eating practices for women during pregnancy. Mothers need to make more informed choices for their own well-being as well as healthy growth and development for their baby.
Kashf Foundation in collaboration with Global Affairs Canada has produced a public service campaign to promote maternal health and nutrition through accessible, practical and locally relevant information.

A very timely and engaging discussion on raising capital, managing liquidity, and how perceptions of risk continue to constrain access to finance for the microfinance sector. I particularly emphasized the need for a proportionate regulatory framework for micro-savings—the absence of which remains a key barrier to the sector’s growth and its ability to help low-income clients build financial resilience.
Kashf Foundation has been a pioneer in building a holistic suite of financial and non-financial services for women, spanning microcredit, microinsurance, micro-pensions and capacity-building support for women entrepreneurs. Access to savings is the critical missing piece—the last mile in achieving truly inclusive finance and enabling low-income households to build financial security, manage shocks and strengthen their resilience.

Mission drift and climate vulnerability are two major risks confronting Pakistan’s microfinance sector. These challenges, coupled with the looming transition towards Shariah-compliant microfinance, could have significant implications for women’s financial inclusion, the sustainability of microfinance institutions, and the future growth of the sector.
Mission drift risks moving microfinance away from its core purpose of serving low-income and financially excluded clients, particularly women. At the same time, increasing climate vulnerability threatens the livelihoods and repayment capacity of precisely those clients who are most dependent on microfinance.
The transition to Shariah-compliant finance adds another layer of complexity. If not managed carefully, the transformation could increase costs, constrain product choice, and create barriers to access for low-income women.
Ultimately, the challenge is to ensure that these transitions strengthen rather than undermine women’s financial inclusion, the social purpose of microfinance, and the sector’s long-term resilience

It also provided the opportunity to explore the longstanding connections between Kashf and the Netherlands and for building further linkages in the future.
The recent meeting between the Embassy of The Netherlands & Kashf brought forward many new ideas and potential collaborations. The discussion focused on Kashf's work on supporting women to turn ideas into businesses, create livelihoods & build greater economic independence.
Spoke with a wonderful group of women professionals on leadership and choices — including the perennial debate of “we can’t have it all” versus leaning in, getting a foot in the door and claiming a chair at the table.
It was wonderful to engage with such a dynamic, diverse, articulate and confident group of women. It gave me hope that perhaps one day we really will see a change in Pakistan’s female labour force participation rate!
And the amazing thing? So many of them had watched Kashf’s dramas, and many mentioned how much the stories resonated with them.
One asked me what my biggest challenge has been. I said: changing mindsets.

Partnership Beyond Capital
Kashf Foundation recently hosted Partnership Beyond Capital in Karachi, bringing together senior leaders from commercial banks, DFIs, insurance companies, and credit bureaus.
The evening brought together our valued partners not only to celebrate the partnerships that have shaped our journey, but also to look ahead towards a future of stronger collaboration, deeper partnerships, and shared progress.
In 2010, I was invited to ring the bell at the NYSE on Wall Street. Standing on the balcony overlooking the bourse with four women leaders from across the world, I looked down at the heart of the world’s capital markets and had a thought:
Wouldn’t it be wonderful to connect women entrepreneurs to the stock market?
Thirteen years later, that thought became reality when we floated Pakistan’s first gender bond, listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
Sometimes a thought is the beginning of a journey. And sometimes, if you hold onto it long enough, it becomes a reality.
