Now Israel bombs vicinity of schools that people are using as a shelter in Lebanon and doesn't even need to pretend there's a military rationale.

This is another war crime, and the International Criminal Court remains silent. Israel is testing the international reaction by bombing the areas surrounding these schools; if we do not stop Israel from such war crimes, it will soon begin bombing schools in Lebanon that are full with displaced people.

Let's decode what actually happened here.

Axios reported that Trump exploded at Netanyahu. Called him "fucking crazy." Said "you'd be in prison if it weren't for me." Said "everybody hates you now."

The journalist is Barak Ravid again, we talked about it. Israeli. Based in Washington. Covers the Netanyahu-US relationship for Axios, and every latest deals to calm the markets.

This is the same journalist who wrote the exact same type of story about Biden. There is literally a book chapter about this pattern. It is called "Fuming Biden." The same reporter. The same format. The same function. Different president.

Now watch the response.

Mark Levin, a close ally of both Trump and Netanyahu, did not deny the story. He demanded an FBI investigation into who leaked it. When your defense is "this should never have leaked" instead of "this never happened," you have confirmed the call happened.

But here is the part that matters.

Why would Levin, a friend to BOTH men, confirm the most explosive account of their relationship ever published?

Because it serves both.

Trump gets to look tough. Not Netanyahu's puppet. Willing to put Israel in its place. His base loves it.

Netanyahu gets cover. He "paused" the Beirut strike, but not because Iran threatened him. Because his "friend" asked him to. His base loves it too.

And look at what actually changed on the ground. Nothing.

Israel cancelled the Beirut strike. But the ground invasion of Lebanon continues. The IDF is still miles deep. A soldier died today from a Hezbollah drone. Netanyahu's office said: "position unchanged."

The performance was perfect. Trump gets the headline. Netanyahu gets the cover. The deal gets another 48 hours of "progress." Markets get a reason to breathe.

And the war continues exactly as planned.

This is the same playbook. Every time public opinion turns against the war, a story appears showing the US president is "furious" with Israel. It creates the illusion of restraint while changing nothing.

Biden was "furious" for 14 months. The war never stopped.

Trump is "furious" now. The ground invasion is expanding.

The visible game is: Trump controls Netanyahu.
The real game is: both men are performing for their audiences while the machine moves forward.

Nothing has been signed. Nothing has stopped. The war is not winding down. It is being managed.

Neither one controls the other. They walk arm in arm. Know that.

➡️ Hires 2 new reporters w little journalism experience
➡️ Provides them unlimited budget, time & resources to interview every single rape crisis center in Israel, every everyone who might know something, yet still couldn't find any victims. (that should have been the headline: we couldn't find any rape victims.)
➡️ Schwartz told interviewees the point of the article was to present Israel in a positive light.
➡️ Jeffrey Gettleman, the lead author, said the point of the investigation was not to assess the veracity of testimonies collected, but rather to present a story to move people [to support a genocide].
➡️ Raz Cohen, a key witness in the piece, had already changed his story at least 3 times before cited it as fact.
➡️ The family of the main character of the story, Gal Abdush, rejected the accusation that she was raped, claiming “the media invented” the entire thing.
➡️The spokesperson of Kibbutz Be’eri also rejected the claim in the article that the sisters, Yahel and Noiya Sharabi, were raped.
➡️The paper relied on Zaka testimonies, the organization that intentionally spread insidious lies about Oct. 7
➡️ Nevertheless, the article was a front-page article, a blockbuster report

The @NYTimes when it knows Israelis raped Palestinians:

➡️ Calls it an opinion piece, despite citing dozens of rape survivors, UN & medical reports, and Israeli human rights organizations and despite video evidence
➡️ Waits for 2.5 years of genocide to publish anything substantial on the topic
➡️ Makes sure to mention the fake mass rape hoax in the first graph

This is a hard article to read, but I hope you'll do so. I've spent some time reporting on widespread rape and other sexual violence of Palestinian male and female prisoners by Israeli authorities, and the article is now published. The assault victims were warned not to give speak of what they endured -- they were sometimes told they would be killed or raped if they gave interviews -- but they found the courage to do so. One man described being raped three times in a single day in Israeli prison, the third time after he tried to protest. A young woman said the guards would come in at the beginning of each shift and strip her naked and abuse her. Another reported that she was shown photos of herself being raped and warned they would be released unless she cooperated with Israeli intelligence. Even three children who had been detained told me they had been sexually abused. Look, whatever our position on the Middle East, we should be able to agree on being anti-rape. Sexual assaults were horrific when Israeli women were targeted on Oct. 7, and they're equally horrific when Israeli authorities use them against Palestinians day after day after day.
