@SkyAsassino@DeadlySin117 Half true. He's reasonably unhappy because its been made clear that leadership has been whats made Destiny worse and worse and now that they are letting the team actually do what players have been asking for, it is the final update as resources are pulled and put to Marathon
@_Tom_Henderson_ IMO with how daft sony is, any sort of large player spike on D2 with the June 9th update is just going to be seen as "funeral" numbers by higher ups rather than any kind of real player-base revitalization.
@Ameleahss 100%, they needed someone with Shiomi's blood which has a unique property in how the person interacts with the flow of time so she's biologicly related. Araya is a clone of Shiomi which was likely a part of a plan to either mass produce or just to make a backup incase ryoshu fail
@KileeSakazaki Some of the bosses slap and i like the classes in jt but as someone who played the summoning class, some bosses were just really annoying probably due to how summons target and the boss arenas and such but those things might be way better now
@Saxophone0DST I still stand by my opinion from their release that the outfit they gave for this IS really good looks cool (idk how i feel abt the floating tassles) but it should never have been the base appearance.
Literally no other game out there that scratches the same itch that Destiny does and its dominated that for over a decade now. Hopefully a Destiny 3 is somewhere in Bungie's future but it'd be fun to see a truly new Bungie IP aswell

For almost twelve years, we have had the joy and honor to explore the Destiny universe with you all. Through all the ups and downs, surprises and triumphs, building Destiny alongside our players has been a monumental privilege. While our love for Destiny 2 has not changed, it has become clear that after The Final Shape, we have reached the time for our shared worlds, and Destiny, to live beyond Destiny 2.
As our focus turns towards a new beginning for Bungie, we will begin work incubating our next games. To that end, on June 9, 2026, we will release the final live-service content update for Destiny 2 to begin that new journey as a studio.
Though active development may be concluding, we will ensure that Destiny 2 remains playable, just as the original Destiny is today. Many changes in this final update will aim to ensure that Destiny 2 is a welcoming place for players to return to.
We’re proud of Destiny 2, the places it took us, and the legacy it has created. Because of you all, our universe is vast, built on years of shared stories, adventures, and victories. From the Cosmodrome to the Pale Heart to the Lawless Frontier, we have forged life-long memories and friendships with you all.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who made that journey with us.
From the deepest part of our hearts, thank you, and we'll see you in the stars.
