@j_archer_avary @LeighChadwick5 Well thank god you’re not an EIC anymore. Your stylistic preference aside you should read every submission that meets the guidelines. Unless your magazine specifically said not to center poems that’s a pretty shitty way to run. I say this having worked in two mags too. Pity.

@joan_galt I’ve only seen prologues in memoir. When done well they seem to set up powerful themes and draw the reader in medias res into an important moment we come back to later in the story which often then gets developed further. It’s a crafty move to keep readers hooked when done well

Because usually when I come back from AWP I have 5x as many books and maybe read 3-5 /20-30 in a year lol this looks healthy, productive, and manageable
