As (future) physicians our basic duty is to care for the health and well-being of our patients. Guns have become a vehicle for entirely too much death, injury and psychological trauma, and we need better research to understand how to curb this violence.

The theme for SOMA Spring Convention this year is "Advocacy in Action." It's going to be two days full of exciting programming focussed on leadership development and healthcare advocacy. A great excuse to come to DC to learn, network, and engage in advocacy.
