@lorewilbert I must confess to not having listened to this, but instead read it. Transcendent Kingdom by Yaa Gyasi (and I've heard her other books highly praised too!). Incredible descriptions of faith from someone who doesn't profess faith herself.
@racheljwelcher Just under 2.5 for my daughter (did the three day method and it stuck), 2 and 3mos for my son (tried to get it done before baby brother arrived) and six months later it's still a work in progress. Definitely plan to take it slow with my third!
"When people ask how I'm coping with the heat, it feels as unusual as asking someone not pregnant - 'wow, how does it feel to have a so many internal organs on a day like this?'"

@LaurenMedlicott Just wanted to say I recently found your Substack and really enjoying it =). As a fellow expat who moved to England seemingly around the same time you moved to Wales, it feels we may have a lot in common!
Christianity has been revolutionary for different reasons @ different points in history. I think the most subversive tenet of Xianity today is selflessness. To die to self in a world that orients us entirely around the centrality of the self is nothing short of cultural rebellion
We only have a certain amount of time, attention, & resources. If we devote them to being anti-culture, we cannot devote them to forming healthy culture. We're passing along something, to be sure. But it's not the gospel. It's not a sustainable faith.
What should you do when you feel like you’re floundering? Listen to your life. Find out how in this excerpt from @joynessthebrave’s new book, “Aggressively Happy.” https://t.co/mYsH8zHqBK
@racheljwelcher One in-between option is what we did, where we kept babies in with us until 6 months, but had white noise playing in the room which helped mask those little sounds you mentioned. But I fully agree - do what's best for your family!
I was asked to recommend a “life-alteringly significant” book for the @RedeemerUniv student summer reading list. I chose @TheAlanNoble’s You Are Not Your Own. Below is the “blurb” I wrote on why:
@courtneyellis I was a Lewanowicz, now I'm a Hacker, which is way more user-friendly. *Sometimes* I miss my last name being a conversation piece though.
@always_lisah That's awfully kind of you Lisa! Thank you again for all you're doing in your writing and sharing - it's been of real encouragement to me. ☺️
A couple months ago I started writing an email every week to a small group of friends. It's a space to practice consistency and try to keep my writing muscles warm and - Lord willing - growing. If you'd like to read along or subscribe, here's the link. https://t.co/MGwOCmKWIy
