If you approach this work thinking my Ss can’t, they prob won’t - then they can’t. They won’t. But if you teach them as writers even before they are, if you’re public and clear in your certainty that they will love wrtg, they will. Your expectation becomes their ceiling. #tcrwp
Ask me about my leaf picture! We read Leaf Man, labeled things about leaves, collected our own on a nature walk, made our own picutre, & then wrote a sentence about it using at least 2 trick words. @MsFoster_RBPS@rbpsEAGLES#RBBisBIA
For the month of November, we’re co-authoring a Thankful List Poem during morning meeting using interactive writing. Ask me what I’ll add to our poem & stop by room 403 to read it! @MsFoster_RBPS@rbpsEAGLES#RBBisBIA
Ask me about our visit to the Red Bank map! We got to see where we live and how it relates to the Primary School, each other, & other Red Bank landmarks. Thank you, @MrsFlahertyC !! So much community built in this project. @MsFoster_RBPS@rbpsEAGLES#RBBisBIA
Ask me how I’m feeling about Halloween! For our circle greeting this morning, we shared how we were feeling and then asked the next person, “How are you feeling ___?” Many have mixed feelings - excited & nervous! Knowing how we feel can help us support one another. #RBBisBIA
We are so proud of our classmates who received awards at our Character Ed assembly today! Room 403 is so glad you’re part of our class 👏🏼🫶🏼. @MsFoster_RBPS@rbpsEAGLES#RBBisBIA
Yesterday we had some negative self-talk about a design challenge in science. So for today’s morning meeting, Ss brainstormed optimistic things we can say when approaching hard tasks. We kept them close today during science to remind ourselves of how to be optimistic. #RBBisBIA
We’ve been thinking about persistence & optimism this week! Today we read The Bright Side and then shared self-talk we can use to help us take a more persistent or optimistic stance. @MsFoster_RBPS@rbpsEAGLES#RBBisBIA
Today we did observational drawings of our cucumbers! We used what we’ve been practicing in science to draw the cucumber outside and inside and then talked about words to describe it. We were fans - some ate down to the tiniest stem! @NurseReardon#FFVatRBPS#RBBisBIA
In WW today we did small groups for celebration prep, so Ss chose what writing work to do on their own: working on more books in our folder, storytelling wordless picture books, or storytelling with our popsicle stick puppets at parks in Red Bank.#RBBisBIA
On our first walking trip to Bellhaven today, the Primary School’s environment really showed up and showed off. We rescued a baby turtle and took it to the nesting site, saw an eagle circling (Stormy for sure), seagulls in the river, and more. @MsFoster_RBPS@rbpsEAGLES#RBBisBIA
Ask me about what I can buy with 4 coins at the farmers market tomorrow! We practiced finding number sentences that had a sum of 4 to get ready. Some of us want just fruit, & others want to buy as many things as possible! @NurseReardon @ChartwellsK12 @rbpsEAGLES#RBBisBIA
