My daughter said, “Oh cool, Mom, you’re working with one of the directions!” Yes, former One Direction member Louis Tomlinson donated mobile food pantries with https://t.co/DUpLqfSjdO to multiple cities on his tour. He’s feeding kids in need in Chicago, Detroit, NYC, ATL, & more
i want to desperately talk about s2wl live. the imagery he displays makes no mistake what he’s talking about. here is how the song plays out on stage [obviously it’s my interpretation, but i’m struggling to see it any other way] 🥺
Zayn se presentó en el Gnp, Harry acaba de completar una histórica gira de 12 noches en Wembley, Niall tocando en el Grand Ole Opry y Louis en el gran MSG… Ellos la están rompiendo 😭❤️🩹
What a show, what a moment, what a time to be a KMM girl!!!!
I can’t tell u how proud I am of Louis and us. It’s true that MSG is a venue like so many others he played before except it’s not. It’s Louis’ first sold out solo gig there. It’s NYC, babe: if u make it there, u make it anywhere…
And Louis knows it and made it even more worthwhile by singing SIDE BY SIDE. He gave us the opportunity to scream “together together”, the tour title of his “mortal enemy”, at the A zoffs’ own backyard…
Oh, yes: and we have an outro. It’s Baddiel, Skinner, and The Lightning Seeds’ THREE LIONS 96! Thread will follow and this is a funny one…🤣🤣🤣
Louis, tonight, Madison Square Garden has your name on it.
Not as part of a phenomenon too enormous for five boys to fully understand while it was happening. Not as one voice inside a machine moving faster than anyone your age should have had to survive. Not as the kid standing in that room in 2012, tweeting that you couldn’t believe you were even saying "MSG."
This time, it’s yours.
Your songs are the reason people are walking through those doors. Your voice is the one they came to hear. Your band is behind you. Your fans are in front of you. Your fight is written into every single part of this.
And god, I hope you let that land.
I hope it doesn’t pass by as just another venue, another night, another crowd to win, another box to tick, another chance to prove something to people who were never paying close enough attention anyway. I hope, even for one second, it reaches every version of you that had to fight its way here.
The eighteen-year-old they underestimated.
The boy with barely any solos.
The one who hid behind humor because sometimes jokes were safer than being seen too clearly.
The writer who sharpened himself because he needed the world to understand there was so much more there.
The artist who kept rebuilding every time life, grief, the industry, or circumstance tried to knock something out of him.
The man who took survival and turned it into songs loud enough for thousands of people to scream back.
That is what tonight means.
The people who have been here long enough remember when MSG felt like an impossible sentence. We remember the tweets, the interviews, the deflection, the loyalty, the way you always made the fans the center of everything because that was generous, and protective, and so painfully you. We remember how much you carried before people were willing to admit you were carrying anything at all.
So no, we’re not only proud because you sold out Madison Square Garden.
We’re proud because you arrived here still you.
Bruised, maybe. Changed, definitely. Forced through compromises most people will never understand. But still stubborn. Still funny. Still sharp. Still soft under all that armor. Still looking at a crowd like you can’t quite believe they came for you, even though they did, and they do, and they always will.
And when Side By Side happens tonight, I hope you feel the weight of it coming back at you.
For the fans.
For the years.
For everyone who grew up beside you.
For every quiet sacrifice and every loyalty no one got to see.
There since you were eighteen.
Still here now.
Still growing with you, side by side.
Tonight is not a test. You don’t need to convince anyone anymore. You already did that in the songs. In the tours. In the rooms that kept getting bigger. In the crowds that kept getting louder. In the people who stayed. In the fact that Madison Square Garden gets to be filled with your music tonight and know exactly who dragged those songs all the way there.
So cry if it hits.
Laugh if that’s easier.
Look out at that room and let yourself understand it: none of this was luck. You built it. You fought for it. You earned it.
And we are so unbelievably proud of you.
Take the moment properly.
It belongs to you.
Side by side, always.
Huge shout out to the fandom goddesses who organized this all as volunteers. They raised the funds, designed the light show, pursued a relentless participation campaign on line, and literally roamed the halls of MSG last night urging people to participate. They worked with MSG and LTHQ to ensure success, and they pulled it off in the biggest and bestest way. It was incredible! WAY TO GO and Thank you!
Louis has been getting so much unnecessary hate lately over watching a football game and even his singing, but people forget the incredible atmosphere in that room. Tonight he takes the stage at MSG in New York for the first time as a solo artist, and I couldn’t be prouder or more excited to watch. Louis has helped so many people through dark times, reignited a love of music, and given fans hope when they needed it most. Instead of tearing artists down, let’s spend more time supporting the people we love. Be kind, lift each other up, and remember the good he’s brought into so many lives. Let’s change this picture to a big smile tonight!
