I would like to understand why councillors who are representatives of other communities are allowed a vote in this poll. I am genuinely frightened to take my small children on to Mill Road when the traffic is either bumper to bumper or cars speed dangerously past narrow footpaths

Councillors have voted 8-7 to reopen Mill Road back to traffic while a consultation takes place on a bus gate scheme that would include exemptions, and other changes.

Residents have been let down for safe travel. Scenes like this will return for 6 months, bringing back problems.

@IndieCamb I am so gutted. And now genuinely worried about how I'll use the shops on Mill road, do the school run and get to town with kids in tow. The fact is the traffic was dangerous and polluting. We need to find a way to increase footfall whilst traffic remains at this healthy low.
