My spirit was down this morning.
I read the account of two girls kidnapped along the Okene Abuja road and the terrible things done to them in captivity and it broke me.
One told her dad not to bother paying her ransom as she would kill her self when eventually released, that they have been r*pping her continuously for three days. They got angry and shot her while the dad was still listening.
The other was released after her ransom was paid but the trauma she faced (I can't bring myself to write about it) even psychiatrists are struggling to bring her around. She is in FCMC Kaduna now.
Are these stories not being told to Tinubu?
What about Remi that is a mother? Is she not hearing about it?
140-something people kidnapped in Kwara in February are still missing o 😢
"Unhappy" Children's Day: Apostle Johnson Suleman Children's Day message to the Nigerian Government
The primary responsibility of the government is to protect lives and properties.
The moment a government can't protect lives and properties, especially those of vulnerable children, then that government has lost the trust of the people.
On a day like this, when we should be celebrating our children, one's heart is heavy when you remember that almost fifty (50) were recently abducted in Oyo State
Some of these children in question are as young as two (2) years, with the oldest being barely seventeen years.
One's heart is truly pained and burdened because despite this mishap and several of all such abductions that have taken place in recent times the present government continues to trivialize all such dastard acts while they prefer instead bask in the euphoria of some phantom primary election.
Even as an age long Arsenal fan who has waited for arsenal to win trophies, I am still unable to celebrate the recent Arsenal victories because of these children who continue to wallow in captivity away from the warmth and protection of their homes and parents.
My cry and lamentation isn't partisan as I have always advocated for good governance irrespective of who or which party is power, and sometimes I have done this at the expense of my own personal comfort
This is a Clarion call once more and again for the Government to wake up to its responsibility because these abducted children didn't choose to be born Nigerians nor do they deserve the insensitivity of the government towards their plight
Please note that if our children are not safe, our mothers and women can't be settled and if mothers and women are not settled then fathers and men can't focus and there is no quicker way to bring a nation to its knees quicker than destabilizing men and fathers who are the natural protectors and defenders of the homes which is the basic unit of social existence.
To the Government of the Day, therefore, I say "Unhappy Children's Day" and shame on all of us for not being able to protect our children.
May God deliver us in this country from unreasonable and wicked men who masquerade themselves as leaders and defenders of our nation State but who are actually pretenders concerned only about power that gives them access to our common patrimony.

Today is children’s day, but 46 innocent children learning in their classrooms in Ogbomosho, Oyo state were kidnapped by gunmen.
It’s been two painful weeks already and these children are still not home with their families, suffering out there in the cold and enduring fear and uncertainty that no child should ever know.
This is a National crisis and the government must use every resource necessary to bring these children home. Nothing else matters in this moment.
We owe our children a safer country.
The video of school children kidnapped in Oyo State, being flogged and tortured, is deeply heartbreaking and utterly unacceptable. No society should ever normalize this level of brutality against innocent children. Our children and indeed every Nigerian deserve safety, dignity, and protection. Anything less is a failure of humanity, and a grave indictment of the responsibility of those entrusted with safeguarding lives.
I talk to a lot of young people who explain new ways of making money to me that I have never heard of before. They are also quite successful in these niches, which helps them amass serious wealth. The most consistent problem they have is with human relationships.
It seems that to be very good at what you do, relationships eventually suffer. Pep Guardiola became estranged from his wife because of his dedication to football. So many people I know who are obsessive high achievers frequently have multiple failed marriages.
Most of the time, they go into relationships promising heaven and earth but end up putting their partners in the background and prioritizing their passion for work over all else.
Sadly, both sides are already driven too far apart before they admit that there is a problem. I lost an 8-year relationship once because work came first before anything else. If you ask me if I would do things differently all over again, to be honest, I would not. I should have ended things early.
Choosing your career and success over relationships when you are younger and have opportunities should not make you feel guilty. The problem comes when you have no exit plan. The reason most relationships fail with workaholics is that they have no exit or retirement plan.
Two things forced me to slow down. Health issues and losing money. Without those two things happening, I would have driven everyone around me miserable. The pandemic also saved many relationships, as we were all forced to slow down and rethink everything.
Adversity is almost always a blessing in disguise.
