@JohnLegere#JohnClearMyList Hey John! Thanks for helping teachers fill their classrooms with much-needed supplies! I'm a first grade teacher at a new school and would love some help!

@pwharris I used the area model method with multiplication to simplify the larger numbers in this equation. I then used addition to determine how many parts were used to create the area of 780. #MathStratChat @YehCathery
@pwharris First I’d break 6/5 into thirds, so that’s 2/5 + 2/5 + 2/5. Then, the equation is asking for 2/3, so I would circle 2 of my 2/5 parts. So two of those thirds is 2/5 + 2/5 = 4/5. #MathStratChat @YehCathery

Today I was left speechless by an 8 year old, who politely told me that it was inappropriate to play hangman with them because of the lynchings of black men and the current state of the world and you know what? He was totally correct. I’m bringing him a prize tomorrow
As a teacher, I believe it is essential that I not only educate my students about the racism in this country and how to love everyone, but also continue to educate myself about how I can use my privilege to be an ally and supporter of this movement. #BlackLivesMattters#teacher
As teachers, we need to remember that every student is unique and benefits from different classroom environments and teaching styles.
The most important part of education is teaching Ss how to reach their goals and take charge of their learning.

#SlowTwitterChat Appropriate use of technology gives Ss the freedom to explore, investigate, and imagine the world as it is and how it could be. When Ss are given this, they will discover the joys of the world and radiate creativity. @tsschmidty#EDUC451Chat#BlendedLearning
Encouraging creativity+innovation is essential 2 Ss success. It supports both teachers and students to explore, research and use tools to uncover something new. It also teaches Ss to investigate many ways to solve a problem. #EDUC451Chat@tsschmidty@spencerideas#SlowTwitterChat
Technology gives us the potential to create a more inclusive and supportive classroom. When students are given a wide array of resources, they will be able to better excel in school and life, disability or not! #educ451chat@tsschmidty#SlowTwitterChat
Flipgrid is an incredible resource that allows Ss to share their perspectives and ideas in a way that makes them feel comfortable and safe. Ss can record themselves multiple times, building confidence in what they are sharing along the way. #EDUC451Chat#flipgrid4ELs@tsschmidty
A3: I don’t do a lot of “prep” during prep-time, it is mostly a game of catch-up. I try to just focus on one moment at a time and not get too behind. #ditchbook @YehCathery #ChapmanCES@tsschmidty#educ451chat
