"They have your name, they have your address, in some cases, they have your Social Security number in a digital gun registry, and that's illegal."
@RealGunLobbyist exposes the ATF’s illegal database of over 1.4 billion searchable firearm records, warning that storing personal details on gun owners directly violates federal law. @jsolomonReports@AmandaHead
BREAKING: President Trump signed the HALT Fentanyl Act into law one year ago today.
But, the new research provisions that scientists were promised would make it easier to study Schedule I substances STILL haven't been implemented.

THOMAS MASSIE: “It’s ironic that we control the House, Senate, Supreme Court, & the White House -- and we're yelling 'election fraud'? We won all the damn elections.
What are we doing with that? We’re bankrupting the country. We’re starting new wars. We’re violating the Constitution. We’re not cracking down on the fraud. The problem is not the elections. We won the damn elections. The problem is that we’re wasting the opportunity voters gave us."
“Rather than following the evidence, the DEA released these actions in the lead up to a holiday weekend and provided the public less than 30 days to comment on the proposed 7-OH threshold and no opportunity at all to weigh in on the other substances being criminalized”- Kat Murti

Maybe I’m “too American,” but I had an experience at Machu Picchu that really upset me.
I bought two tickets to enter Machu Picchu months in advance; one for myself and one for my friend. She couldn’t come on the trip, so I had an extra ticket. I was with a Q’ero elder (a direct descendant of the Incas) and asked to change the ticket so he could use it. They didn’t allow that, even if I offered to pay full price for his ticket just so he could enter with me.
Nada. No can do. I lost a $152 ticket, and what we could argue was “one of the rightful owners of that land” had to sit outside.
Governments take things from indigenous peoples and have no chill about it.
@perucultural, horrible policy. I hope you do better. You’re making a fortune off structures you didn’t contribute to, while denying indigenous peoples the right to access their heritage.
A good friend once informed me that my colleagues in DC were playing checkers, not chess.
My late wife Rhonda, who had met these politicians on several occasions, corrected him,
“they’re chewing on the checkers and arguing about which tastes better… red or black.”
So true.
How can you show up and make a change to end the War on Drugs?
Gina Giorgio, SSDP's Director of Strategy and Development, emphasizes how young scientists showed up to block the scheduling of two research compounds in the DEA's own courtroom.

Members of Congress don’t swear an oath to a political party.
They swear to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic.
Two hundred seven Republicans betrayed their oath.
It’s so weird how people consistently think this is a mic drop response - as if pages upon pages of economic and political theory haven’t been written laying out how nonsensical it is.
Ok, once more for the people in the back...
"when Chilton was asked by the libertarians what gave government the right to ban immigration into the U.S., a ban going far beyond the will of private landowners, he answered: “sovereignty.” A fascinating reply: since he thereby implied that the US. government is really the owner of the entire United States land mass, overriding the rights of private property." - Murray Rothbard January 1991.
You’re actually arguing AGAINST private property rights dude.
The Big Beautiful Bill contains a provision banning state & local governments from regulating AI.
It’s worse than you think.
It would make it easier for corporations to get zoning variances, so massive AI data centers could be built in close proximity to residential areas.
Love to see this bipartisan Congressional Cannabis Caucus collaboration!
Over 90% of Americans — people from both sides of the aisle — support legal access to medical marijuana.
I am pleased to see that the House Rules Committee made my and @RepBrianMast's amendment to allow medical marijuana recommendations @DeptVetAffairs in order. I will continue fighting to get this provision over the finish line. Our veterans deserve the best health care that they can get and should not be left behind.

It’s time to puff, puff, pass the bill. As Co-Chair of the Congressional Cannabis Caucus, I am working with the Cannabis Unity Coalition to decriminalize marijuana as a dangerous drug. The federal government needs to catch up to the states. @NORML@DrugPolicyOrg@lastprisonerprj@NCIAorg
We’re proud to launch the Tobacco and Nicotine course, a completely free learning experience designed and developed by our wonderful and hard working Drug Education Committee for anyone who wants to understand nicotine and tobacco in a deeper context.... https://t.co/URDZEebrh0
