@DrJessTaylor hey, just wondering if this is a typo, page before you say the ideal woman is childbearing, yet here it’s listed as the criteria for the crazy woman.
I'm looking to get in touch with as many people as possible who are Tourettic (/have #TouretteSyndrome) and also #research#Tourette Syndrome. Whether you're based in academia or not, early career or professor... I'd love to look into creating a network!

Before everyone starts suggesting that maybe Kyle Clifford was ‘suffering from mental health issues’ which ‘caused him’ to tie up and shoot three women, let me shoot some facts here:
1. There is not a single mental disorder listed or described in the DSM which states that it causes murder
2. Not a single mental health charity would put their name to a public statement which stated that MH was associated with committing murder - in fact they would probably do the opposite
3. Men kill women because they want to
4. Men kill women because they get something out of it
5. Men kill women because of their misogyny and male entitlement
6. Men kill women because they enjoy it
7. Men kill women because we do absolutely nothing about the toxic, abusive, misogynistic, pro-violence and pro-abuse society we raise them in
8. Men kill women because there are virtually zero consequences and less than 2% conviction rate for domestic and sexual violence crimes
People only claim men who murder are mentally ill for TWO reasons:
1. To defend the suspect legally, in order to claim insanity, so charges or sentences can be lessened
2. To psychologically distance ourselves from their actions, so no one has to accept that this is a social and systemic problem of violence and abuse - and we can all go on pretending that it was another ‘one-off’ caused by ‘mental illness’
End.
I had a phone conversation today with a very nice young chap from Pakistan. This is how it went:
"Hello, how are you today?"
"I'm very well thank you for asking, how are you and more to the point, WHO are you?"
"Madam, my name is Sanjit, and I'm calling you from Microsoft.”
"Microsoft, is that a city in Pakistan?”
" No Madam, MICROSOFT, the computer company. I'm calling to tell you that we have found a problem with your computer.”
"REALLY, that's quite concerning.”
"Yes Madam, it can become very serious indeed but thankfully I will be able to fix it for you.”
"No, I meant it's very concerning because I don't HAVE a computer.”
“You don't?"
“No.”
"Ahh, it must be a problem on your laptop Madam.”
"Don't have one.”
"Ipad?"
"Nope.”
"Tablet?"
"I have none of those things. As a matter of fact, I don't even have a telephone.”
After a few seconds of silence he said "Madam, you are lying to me now!"
I said "Well, you started it!!" and put the phone down.
writing about disability in an academic sense is so funny because in four separate places i have had to cite medical journals and/or the NHS website about POTS, a condition i very much have and am very much diagnosed with
@DirectLine have a parent who can’t use the internet who has now been waiting for an hour to speak to you about the fact you have provided details for a company who don’t do the repairs on the damage reported. It is now raining into the house. This is NOT acceptable!
@AllyCister@poppymoppet@firewomon THANK YOU was just coming to say this. All Shakespeare plays can be political when you take into consideration the historical context of when they were written.
HOW LOVELY ❤ Just been for a meal with the wife and a guy came in 5 minutes after us and as he went past our table he shook my hand and said hello.
I didn't know the guy but i was polite and said hi etc
15 minute later he popped over to our table and introduced himself as Chris and told me he was in recovery and had had a tuff day
I said hang on and we will have a sit down and a gab ... A lil later we went outside and sat down and spend 10 minutes chatting about addiction and recovery and shared some vulnerable emotions etc .
I took Chris number and told him i would drop him a message tomorrow and we will stay in touch . I told him the importance of talking
He then left and we said goodbye
When i came to pay the bill , the waiter told me that Chris had paid for it as a thank you.
It really really really touched me . Acts of kindness and gratitude are such a massive part of my life nowadays and tonight i was on the receiving end of a lovely act of kindness
Theres such a connection with people who are in recovery
Thank you Chris , i'm very proud of you mate x
