@Asitte_@rngdigitalhq This is great @Asitte_ I hope this is about building the community and not building a campaign résumé with RGB lighting. Esports deserves institutions that can survive any election cycle, not projects that rise and fall with whoever is in power.
What does Muizzu mean by opposition not having anything to say about this government??
Here's a short recap.
Indiaout turned into Indiaplscomback.
We can't be bullied speech after claiming a side in Middle east politics for no good reason
Refusal to finish payments to first ever sovereign fibre optic cable and losing the opportunity to slash internet costs + potential foreign revenue source for the whole country.
Money was printed discreetly to fund insane number of political hires, salaries superseded revenue and not enough office space to even house them.
Parliament is a supermajority rubber stamp institute attempting to peel back civic freedoms on the daily. Latest cyber security bill aims to give big brother powers to the government.
Binveriya was apparently a problem but as per campaign promises decided to keep the policy but not allow anyone to utilize the lands to this day because god forbid introducing more units to the rent market you refuse to regulate.
Huge compensation sums given out post mismanagement of airports, land etc etc.
Non functioning airports right next to each other?? Some fully finished ones shut down to build another in the same atoll. Nothing seems to work though.
Yumn case was subdued with political influence due to the interests of some ministers. No one even considered resignation as an option.
Media control bill. We literally protested for this too.
The MTCC taxi debacle. I don't need to even say anything.
I could go on but this is just off the top of my head.
Today marks a dark day for press freedom in the #Maldives. The sentencing of journalists @mohamedshahzan and @mrleevaaan is a grave step backwards for the democracy we worked so hard to build.
It is deeply concerning to witness the shackling of our progress and the apparent influence over the independence of our state institutions. Press freedom is a vital pillar that protects the rights of every citizen and it must be preserved.
I call for the immediate release of Shahzan and Leevan.
@malshasharyf Funny how some people forget the very freedom they once used so loudly — ridiculing foreign leaders, protesting on the streets, and aggressively targeting the government in power. Freedom of speech cannot suddenly become a problem only when the criticism turns toward you.
As I write this post, two people taking over a table for 4, and just 1 person occupying a table for 4 in a packed restaurant while 2 groups are waiting and available 2-seaters are empty. The entitlement is crazy.
When the mother first reached out, Azan was alive, you failed to act.
Eight months later, when you finally responded, Azan was still alive, you refused to take responsibility.
When I first raised this issue, Azan was still alive, you chose silence.
When I raised it again, Azan was still alive, you were silent and no one held accountable
When I brought it up this morning, admitted but Azan was still alive, you still said nothing.
Now Azan is no longer with us, lifeless body buried and you are still silent and whoever responsible is freely roaming around.
So I am asking you again, @NSPAmaldives & @stoplc , when will you speak up?
When will you hold those responsible accountable? How much longer do you need?
How many more need to suffer before you admit failures and fix those?
Do not, even for a moment, think this case, and your responsibility, will be buried along with him. I will keep on asking until I get an answer!
#LittleAzan
@Asitte_ Impressive. Very glad you're pushing eSports forward, but you don't need to glaze one government to do it. Esports has always been here, always been promised support, and always dropped once agendas are met. Be independent. Be consistent. Expecting better from you.
