🇰🇪 THANKSGIVING CEREMONY IN HONOUR OF DR. AMANI YUDA KOMORA IN ODHA , TANA RIVER COUNTY🌟
Chairman, National Police Service Commission (NPSC)
Today’s thanksgiving ceremony in honour of Dr. Amani Yuda Komora marks a proud and defining moment — not only for the National Police Service Commission (NPSC), but also for the people of Tana River County, the Coastal region, and indeed, our nation at large.
Dr. Komora’s appointment by His Excellency President William Samoei Ruto, through Gazette Notice No. 11798 of 22nd August 2025, as Chairman of the NPSC, stands as a testament to his integrity, professionalism, and lifelong commitment to public service. It is also an affirmation that Kenya’s leadership is increasingly reflective of the country’s diversity, inclusivity, and the immense potential found across all regions.
We were greatly honoured by the presence of Prime Cabinet Secretary Hon. Musalia Mudavadi, who underscored that leadership must always be guided by fairness, integrity, and service. He urged the people of Tana River to rise above regional differences — between the Delta and the North — and unite around a shared vision of peace, stability, and investment.
“Tana River must be a county that attracts opportunities, embraces harmony, and showcases the strength of national unity,” he emphasized.
Cabinet Secretary Hon. Kipchumba Murkomen echoed similar sentiments, reaffirming the government’s unwavering commitment to addressing the real challenges facing the region — from water scarcity and insecurity to infrastructure development and the welfare of police officers. He highlighted the need for modern police stations, improved mobility, and enhanced working conditions, noting that strong institutions begin with dignified service delivery.
“The welfare of our police officers and the security of our citizens are central to national transformation,” he said.
Both leaders commended the President’s focus on inclusivity, particularly through affirmative action, ensuring that minority and marginalised communities are fully represented in Kenya’s national leadership framework. As they both emphasized, such inclusivity must always be guided by professionalism, merit, and patriotism.
Dr. Komora’s story is deeply inspirational — a journey of faith, discipline, and resilience. From humble beginnings in Tana River to the national leadership stage, he embodies the very ideals that define Kenya’s public service: integrity, accountability, and dedication to the common good.
For the State Department for Cabinet Affairs, this moment reaffirms our commitment to supporting transformative leadership across institutions, fostering unity among communities, and advancing a governance culture rooted in fairness and national pride.
On behalf of the Department, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Amani Yuda Komora on this well-deserved appointment. May his tenure as Chairman of the NPSC be marked by wisdom, justice, and reform that strengthens public confidence and enhances the professionalism of our police service.
