Built this playable browser game in WorkBuddy using Hy4 preview.

I wanted to test it on something beyond simple code generation — a task that required planning, game logic, UI, interactions, and keeping everything working across a longer build.

Tencent Hunyuan has shipped three major releases in six months, and Hy4 preview is now open-source:

What’s interesting is the “model + product” co-design approach. Hy4 preview was developed alongside products like WorkBuddy, with expertise from teams across software engineering, gaming, finance, and security.

In Tencent’s blind internal test with 163 experts across 203 engineering tasks:

> Hy4 preview — 2.99/4
> Kimi K3 — 2.94/4
> GLM 5.3 — 2.92/4

It also beats GLM 5.2 on public benchmarks and performs around the level of GLM 5.3.

Compared with Hy3, Hy4 preview improves on coding, task decomposition, context retention, instruction following, and long-horizon agentic execution.

For this test, I asked it to build a complete browser game with resource management, unit placement, enemy waves, different abilities, scoring, and interactive gameplay.

It planned the systems, wrote the code, and turned the prompt into the playable result you can see below ↓
