What happens when you try to divorce your cheating husband *and* have to host this year's delegation of nobles across 7 duchies, including your ex's dysfunctional family, who is determined to get the two of you back together?
You make a deal with the fae, of course! #pitlight
Hi yes, I've been inactive because I have graduate school on the horizon and no time to write but please know that I fully support a woman's right to choose what she wants with her body and unfollow me or block me if you disagree.
@JaredMCW I'd ask them why did they get that far in my work but to be honest I'd accept it since no one is a one-size-fits-all. People shouldn't be rude, however.
I've been inactive lately due to personal stuff but for the first time since the pandemic began I feel more hopeful considering I got accepted into grad school 2 days ago.
The thing with grief is that there's a 50% chance that writing is the primary coping mechanism and I'll end up churning out a lot of work that I end up liking.
...or that 50% goes into something else entirely and every word I write feels like I'm stepping on a Lego.
@jodyjsperling Break up with your boyfriend who may actively be sabotaging your writing career, among other things.
Also ignore it when people (your professors) say genre work and YA Lit is bad and do whatever you want.
@lauraalbertsbks Nope. My current MC is 5"2 so the vast majority of the cast is taller than her (including her ex-husband who is 6"2). The other main character/love interest is 5"7 and he is considerably shorter than her ex.
@LexisMcbane Neat! Also that's really impressive! 🎉🎊
I'm in what I think is the penultimate arc of my story and my one goal is to finish it and get to the final arc. In other words I've reached the point of no return.
Early spring is a really difficult time for me since today marks a year since my cousin died of covid + his father died 6 days before.
My dad's 23rd anniversary is coming up as well on the 5th. I'm trying to be nicer to myself and more forgiving about not writing.
I might be taking a forced break from social media soon because my uncle's anniversary is coming up Tuesday and his son also died in that same week 6 days later (both from Covid). Both were well known figures so being online is rather painful for me.
I actually like the girl a lot. She learned how to walk in heels (thus impressing everyone) for the sole purpose of stepping on her brother's feet. It's a shame she has to die.
My main character's cousin only talks about his much he loved his little sister, who was murdered when she was about 10 or 11 and yet, when the MC finally remembers them, all they do is fight and curse/sling insults at each other nonstop.
@AriaeraB For sure! I wouldn't want my works to be compared to others. I think it's fine when it's framed as "if you like ___, then this might be up your alley" is cool.
Also I've avoided books where they compare it to 2 books I actually disliked so there's that risk as well.
