After more than 65 years in business, Ferrara’s Imported Foods in Mayfield Heights has permanently closed its doors.

Opened in 1959 by brothers Alfred and Joseph Ferrara, the family-owned Italian market grew into a longtime neighborhood staple known for its deli, Sicilian-style pizza, fresh bread, subs, imported goods, sauces, and generations of loyal customers.

Third-generation owner John Ferrara told Cleveland 19 that the decision came after decades of family history inside the store, saying it was simply “the right time.” The family is still sorting out what comes next for the building, inventory, and Ferrara’s branded sauces and Italian dressing.

A real end of an era for Mayfield Heights and the Cleveland-area Italian food scene.

At this year’s Dazzle Awards, Beaumont took home the award for Best Student Costume Design (Tier I), and we could not be more proud! Out of 44 schools and 5 total nominees in the category, our students earned Beaumont’s very first Dazzle nomination and WIN in our first year!
