Why do we need Gemini 3.8 when we have Grok 4.6?
It looks more expensive and slower…
but it’s not.
Same cost per task.
Fewer tokens.
Fewer steps.
Speed ≠ better.
Quality + efficiency matter more.
Gemini = fast assistant.
Grok = gets the job done right.
@HarshithLucky3 Why do we need Gemini 3.8 when we have Grok 4.6? It seems like it’s expensive and slow compared to Gemini, but no—it costs the same per task; it just uses fewer tokens and takes fewer steps.
Speed <<< cost-effectiveness and quality
@lifeiyu80943642 Well, yeah, I agree—and I actually ran the tests in AI Studio and https://t.co/IkE9pr3SQD on their websites, without an IDE or anything like that.
GLM-5.3 vs Gemini 3.8 Flash
Same prompt: “Create a 3D shooter game using only HTML”
Results:
• Gemini — 33.9s / 795 lines
• GLM — ~6 min / 1058 lines
Gemini is fast.
But what’s the point if GLM does it right on the first try?
Pure one-shot. No retries.

@HarshithLucky3 Yeah, just one question: how do you work with it? It seems like you have to give it complex prompts to get a decent response. It can't figure out on its own that the floor in the game should be a physical object. I generated it in AI Studio.
@HarshithLucky3 WHY IS HE SO DUMB? Maybe he's missing some system prompts or coordination—after all, he can't even pull off the basic moves in games.
Based on the benchmarks, it's smart, but either it needs a really huge prompt or it requires some kind of special environment.
@HarshithLucky3 To be honest, you could access the Gemini 3.8 PDF card on the Google Cloud Agent Platform.
As they say, he mentioned where this AI is, but he didn't realize you could access the model card.
OMG, Gemini 3.8 Flash benchmarks just dropped.
Cheap, fast, and surprisingly strong in some areas.
Claude still wins the agent game though.
Main screen runs on Fable 5.1 – and now we know why.

@HarshithLucky3 The first 5 minutes: “WOW, A SUPER NEW AI MODEL!”
30 minutes later: “HMM, not AGI again”
60 minutes later: “Well, let's wait for the new AI”
And so on, over and over
@HarshithLucky3 How to attract users: show them an AI model that we haven't even seen in action or tried ourselves. It's like Gemini 3.5—it was all talk, but then it disappeared.
