Today, I attended the ground-breaking for the new Runnymede Long-Term Care Home in #Toronto.
We made a commitment to improve the quality of life for our loved ones by building new beds & upgrading Ontario’s #LTC homes and we are doing just that.

200 people in one building is not a home, it’s an institution. The only people we institutionalize in Ontario are Seniors and prisoners. @fordnation@RodPhillips01@celliottability @SaraSinghMPP
She answered the same way with LTC issues so definitely no surprise. She should never be in charge but Fullerton fits Ford’s agenda -blame others and deflect @DrFullertonMPP
@fordnation@RodPhillips01 over 90% of seniors do not want to live in LTC yet Ford keeps pouring $ in. Put $ in the community so seniors can age in place with supports. Quit catering to your business friends.
We’re getting shovels in the ground to build much needed long-term care spaces across our beautiful province. This morning I joined @RodPhillips01 and @VictorFedeli to break ground at Waters Edge Care Community, which will soon be home to 160 residents.
@fordnation @DrFullertonMPP @SaraSinghMPP this is nothing to be proud about Ford. Seniors want to be supported to age In place, not be institutionalized. There are only two groups we put in institutions - seniors and criminals.
This afternoon, I attended the ribbon-cutting at Glen Hill Terrace, a redeveloped #LTC home in #Whitby.
Our government is investing $2.68 billion to develop & modernize LTC spaces across the province. There are currently 20,191 new beds and 15,968 upgraded beds in the pipeline.
And Ford had the nerve to pretend he cared at the vigil, poorly reading written notes, nothing from the heart. It was a pathetic display so I am not surprised by the actions of the PC party. They are following their leader. @fordnation@StevenDelDuca@AndreaHorwath
Ontario's Premier just attended a vigil following the murder of 4 people in London who were targeted just because of their Muslim faith...but today, his government blocked a motion condemning Islamophobia.
The hypocrisy is staggering.
Community Living London stands with #OurLondonFamily. We are devastated by this act of hate that took place in our community. Our sympathies are with everyone impacted by this horrible tragedy.
@fordnation You are saying that with a straight face? Paid sick days, full time jobs and a raise - PSWs might believe you care then - and only then. What a hypocrite you are. @DrFullertonMPP @celliottability
I want to send a big shout out to all of Ontario’s amazing Personal Support Workers. Whether it’s working in our #LTC homes, hospitals, retirement homes or providing home care, you are absolute champions. From the bottom of my heart, thank you! #PSWDay2021#PSW
We need a public inquiry into the #OntarioVaccine rollout.
Why?
Because the Ontario government ignored the advice of experts & scientists, which led to hundreds of unnecessary deaths in LTC & many more vaccine-preventable deaths of essential workers.
RT if you agree.
During a 25-minute news conference, Merrilee Fullerton took no responsibility for what happened in long-term care. She blamed it all mostly on previous governments, but also the health bureaucracy, community spread, and scientists disagreeing about masks & aerosol spread.
Ford is on leave and gets sick pay. Wouldn’t that make him a hypocrite if he denies the same rights to the Ontarian’s he claims he cares so much about?
Doug Ford’s Conservatives have voted against paid sick leave 19 times since February.
Will they do the right thing and vote for @coteau’s Bill for 10 days of paid sick leave today? #onpoli#PaidSickDaysSaveLives
It’s time to reserve our tears for the people who were called essential… but yet weren’t provided essential life-saving public health measures such as #PaidSickDays.
Ontario, it didn’t have to be this way.
#COVID19
@fordnation quit crying and listen to the professionals. Quit blaming the Feds around sick pay. Do your job. Follow the medical advice. This is on you Doug. @CP24@CBCLondon
#NEW: Premier Ford admits "We got it wrong...I'm sorry I sincerely apologize" on reversals of decisions re playgrounds and police stops last week. #Onpoli
In honour of National Volunteer Week, we wanted to reflect on the impact that our volunteers, donors, and sponsors have had on people supported by Community Living London over the year.
We invite you to watch here: https://t.co/bzQ6hwSTFJ
Keep telling yourself that @fordnation Someday your delusions might come true. In the meantime listen to the experts, not your business buddies. @celliottability @DrFullertonMPP
As Premier, I will exhaust every option I have to get Ontario more vaccines sooner.
That’s why I’ve reached out to a number of our international allies to secure any available supply as soon as possible. Thank you Dr. Gabrič, EU Ambassador to Canada, for taking the time to talk.
@fordnation does this include the fact that you did not include 7 hotspots that met the criteria in areas where opposition members are located. But you included @DrFullertonMPP area even thought the area didn’t meet the criteria?
We’re fighting COVID-19 with everything we have.
If we receive a steady supply of vaccine, we expect to vaccinate 9 million Ontarians between April and the end of June. In the meantime, we must all do our part now and #StayHome to #SaveLives.
