☆ Why after election has been announced, violence in Manipur has halted? Are the perpetrators of violence busy campaigning?

☆ So is it true that the violence was planned and imposed from above? Has the purpose of starting the violence been achieved? What happens after elections if purpose not achieved? The paused violence restarts?

☆ What is to be gained by separating communities by widening their existing faultlines instead of trying to mend? Will Manipur remain a heavily militarised zone forever?

☆ Can the power weilders and the ordinary Manipuris EVER work together in sync for the better future of the State?

Many questions but just one thing seems to be clear. The people/voters were and are being led by their noses and they seem pretty accepting about it.

The peace agreement signed today with the UNLF by the Government of India and the Government of Manipur marks the end of a six-decade-long armed movement.

It is a landmark achievement in realising PM @narendramodi Ji's vision of all-inclusive development and providing a better future to the youths in Northeast India.

Everything is easy if you choose to ignore the law of the land..even setting up self - government. Or even declare Zalengam country, you never know. Wonder how they will select their leaders... democratic means or directly instal the Militants leaders, who are already de facto leaders in these districts, anyway. It will be a good watch to see how the GOI, who has taken seize of the hill matters, react to this, or not react, as it has been doing. Inaction even when SoO agreement terms violated and citizens/farmers killed.

If this plan to introduce self governance succeeds under the watch of the GOI, it will become a precedent...the 'Manipur Model'. Creating Self Governed units based on ethnic segregation. The Break India forces must be watching with great interest.
