The Civil Rights Act was passed by a bipartisan coalition. The filibuster was led by Southern segregationists, not “today’s Democrats.” The KKK was founded by ex-Confederates to terrorize Black citizens and Reconstruction Republicans.

Juneteenth is not a GOP branding opportunity. It is a Black freedom holiday.
