@northpointfoundation WOW!! NorthPoint Foundation how can we EVER say THANK YOU enough?! Our amazing partnership with Northpoint never ceases to AMAZE the KCIA community. In collaboration with our own Coach Barreda, they have yet again put on the most epic field day for students!
Congratulations to our student of the week! Barbie tries in all of her classes even when it’s tough. She never gives up and always follows directions the first time. We can count on Barbie to do the right thing at lunch, specials, and even when no one is watching.
WHAT A WEEK! Today concluded staff appreciation week-a week filled with goodies and a “wicked” and “double dare” theme. KCIA staff deserves this EVERY DAY, but we hope they all felt the love as we concluded a fun filled week!
Today we celebrated the winners of our Kindness Bingo challenge! We were completely blown away that we had over 120 students in 3rd and 4th grade choose to participate! Congratulations to our winners who were celebrated with a happy meal lunch with the Principals!
Third grade spent their last day of MAP prep going through Survivor-themed challenges! Students were put into four tribes and worked together on ELA passages, math questions, reading stamina, and best test-taking strategies. At the end, each tribe voted for their MVP.

5th grade students got to explore the Environmental Science Lab at Shawnee Mission High School. They were able to work one-on-one with high school students to learn more about native animals and habitats in Missouri. Some students were even brave enough to hold the animals!

Julian is 4th grade's student of the week! This title is well-deserved because Julian is one of the most caring, considerate, and kind students at KCIA. His generosity and drive to do good is so inspiring. We are so happy to celebrate Julian everyday, but especially today!
Kindergarten's student of the week is Gael Rosales- Orantes. Gael R. is always a first time listener and rule follower. He is a great leader in the classroom and is always ready to help a friend if they are struggling. Gael is so kind and sweet to others!
