A student team Sea Sakthi from Kumaraguru College of Technology, Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu) has won the prestigious Foundation Prince Albert II Award at the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge 2026, one of the world’s top platforms for zero emission boat technology.
Competing against 46 teams from across the globe, they secured the top innovation prize for their smart battery thermal management system that improves safety and performance in electric boats using cost effective materials.
This is a landmark achievement for India, the first time an Indian student team has won this award after years of consistent participation.
Tamil Nadu’s young engineers have shown the world that Indian talent can lead in clean energy and sustainable mobility technology.
