Both individuals under Isolation at Gandhi Hospital have tested negative for Ebola, as confirmed by the National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune.

Yesterday, NIV confirmed that the first individual was Ebola-negative. Today, it has confirmed that the second individual has also tested negative.

As per the guidelines of the Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, fresh samples from both individuals will be collected and sent to NIV, Pune, for reconfirmation. Following final confirmation and completion of the prescribed protocol, they will be discharged from isolation.

The Telangana Health Department remains vigilant and is strictly implementing all precautionary measures as per Government of India guidelines.

నిన్న ఒక వ్యక్తికి ఎబోలా నెగిటివ్‌గా తేలిందని ఎన్‌ఐవీ ప్రకటించగా, ఈరోజు రెండో వ్యక్తికి కూడా ఎబోలా నెగిటివ్‌గా నిర్ధారించింది.

కేంద్ర ఆరోగ్య మరియు కుటుంబ సంక్షేమ శాఖ మార్గదర్శకాల ప్రకారం, మరోసారి వారి ఇద్దరి సాంపిల్స్‌ను సేకరించి ఎన్‌ఐవీ, పూణేకు పంపించి పునఃనిర్ధారణ (Reconfirmation) చేయనున్నారు. అనంతరం నిర్దేశిత ప్రోటోకాల్ పూర్తయిన తర్వాత వారిని ఐసోలేషన్ నుంచి డిశ్చార్జ్ చేస్తారు.

The Sudanese national currently under isolation at Gandhi Hospital has tested negative for Ebola.

The National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune, has confirmed that the individual’s samples are Ebola-negative.

In line with the Government of India’s guidelines, health screening of international passengers is continuing at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Shamshabad.

Individuals exhibiting symptoms are being shifted to the isolation ward established at Gandhi Hospital, where samples are collected and sent to the National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune, for testing.

Those without symptoms are being advised home isolation, and their health status is being monitored for 21 days as a precautionary measure.

The Telangana Health Department remains vigilant and is taking all necessary measures to safeguard public health.

The Modi Govt is proposing to bulldoze a Bill to increase the size of the Lok Sabha by 50%. The number of seats allocated to each state is also proposed to be increased by 50%.

The argument that a 50% increase in seats across-the-board is equitable is deceptive. Proportions may not change for the present but there are deeper implications that cannot be wished away.

Any increase in the gap in the existing strengths of different states in the Lok Sabha will place South Indian states at a disadvantage. For instance, currently Uttar Pradesh has 80 seats and Tamil Nadu has 39. With the proposed Bill, UP’s strength will zoom to 120 while Tamil Nadu will crawl up to at best 59. Similarly, Kerala will increase from 20 Lok Sabha seats to 30 seats, while Bihar will move from 40 to 60 seats. Overall, the southern states will gain 66 seats while the northern states will gain 200 seats.

Mr. Modi is unilaterally preparing a law which will disadvantage smaller states in the South, Northeast, and West. The Chief Minister of Telangana has already raised an alarm. Others may very well follow as this proposal becomes officially public.
