Ronaldo is hounded for things others are praised for, especially Messi.
Take the nickname “Penaldo.” When you hear it, you’d think Ronaldo built his entire career on penalties.
The irony is that Ronaldo did not start out as an elite penalty taker. Early in his career, penalties were a weakness. He missed important penalties, including one in the 2008 Champions League final shootout against Chelsea. Back then, he wasn’t called “Penaldo.” He was mocked and criticised.
What happened next is what Ronaldo has done throughout his career: he identified a weakness and worked relentlessly until it became a strength. He went from being an inconsistent penalty taker to one of the greatest the game has ever seen.
Yet instead of being praised for improving a flaw in his game, critics began using “Penaldo” to diminish his achievements.
What’s even more ironic is that Messi holds the record for the most penalties scored in World Cup history, Champions League history, and La Liga history. Yet the “Penaldo” label is reserved almost exclusively for Ronaldo.
As Ronaldo’s goalscoring numbers became impossible to ignore, football discourse suddenly became obsessed with “non-penalty goals.” It felt as though the conversation kept changing whenever Ronaldo excelled. First goals were counted. Then the type of goals started being counted.
Ronaldo was mocked when he missed penalties. Mocked when he took penalties. And mocked when he became one of the greatest penalty takers in football history.
For many fans, that is why the standards have never felt the same. Ronaldo’s story is one of turning weaknesses into strengths, only to see those strengths used against him in the debate over greatness.
Hello everyone ,
It’s been a very interesting 24hrs .
Yesterday, I made a statement about Peter Obi that generated a very strong reaction here .
My intention wasn’t to make him look unattractive or deride him in any way . It was borne out of frustration as to how eerily familiar this process felt like the 2023 episode.
To be honest , I love Peter Obi and the image he represents. He comes across as really empathetic and compassionate. Even after 2023 he remained consistent in lending a helping hand where he could outside of election cycles . This is not something we are used to seeing a politician do . He remains the politician who has no criminal case of corruption attached to his name . This is commendable and must never be taken lightly.
I apologize to everyone who might have been hurt by my comments yesterday despite what my intentions were .
We all want a Nigeria that works !
I really do hope that the New Nigeria will be one we all get to see and be proud of in our lifetime.
As Nigerians , we must never forget that though we might disagree on issues , we are all in this boat together and together we must do all we can to achieve the Nigeria of our dreams .
God bless you!
- Written by my own hand .
We need good men in politics who are skilled in politicking o .
If you don’t have that second skill there will be no good men in politics.
Men like Peter Obi should be in power but for that to happen he will need to build his own platforms and understand that only him cannot bring that change . He will need to do it with his own kind of men , men he will build a proper platform with . It takes a generation to change a Nation .
Anyway I will end it here .
@pfemiolaleye Nigerians deserve their leaders sha, because how did I understand exactly what he's saying? And people are concluding that he's anti obi or pro APC?
Even if you disagree, why not bring your premise of disagreement? Why are people so intellectually lazy?
The incumbent is clearly wicked nah .
He is ruthless !
Unforgiving .
Anyone with sense would want a Peter Obi as president at least from the fact that he will be more empathetic.
My thinking is how ?
Anyway I just spoke with a man who close to Peter Obi who I respect greatly .
I will speak no longer publicly on this matter .
Jokes on you son, RCCG holds Holy Ghost service in countries with working systems😌, they have “Redemption Camp Ground” in some of these countries too. Convention holds in your favorite foreign countries and the venues are always packed.
You want to view RCCG from your myopic POV? nahh😂😂😂😂
It's because Daddy G.O is an extremely peaceful person and strives to follow peace with all men
That's why you people can be picking on him like this
Daddy G.O will always ignore these things and pray for these people, but at a point, we really have to speak out
Please join us at the June 2026 Holy Ghost Service, we'll be seeking the faithful God Who fulfills His promises and keeps His word, and leaning into His faithfulness.
Date: Friday, 5th June 2026
Time: 7pm WAT
Venue: Redemption Camp.

a part of me didn’t want RCCG to drop any rebuttal but then, I wouldn’t expect them to keep quiet while false narratives are being pushed.
i guess it was time to reply fools according to their folly.
I see a lot of people even fellow christians saying things like “Adeboye Should come out and protest”. Protest how and why ?…his protest would make the soldiers get more motivation or what exactly would his protest yield ?. AT 84 year old he should come out and do what exactly.
First I need to state it once again that @PastorEAAdeboye never protested under President Jonathan, he came out on the 2nd of February 2020, obeying the directive of PFN and CAN for a National Prayer walk which other churches observed as well. That false narrative of him protesting under Jonathan is pathetic because some of us walked with him on the Streets of Ebute Meta just before the lockdown.
I’ve been seeing a false narrative going around of people saying @PastorEAAdeboye cancelled a protest, that is also false. PFN called for a 3 day prayer and rally, which @PastorEAAdeboye directed the Admin department of the church to follow as that was the directive of PFN. but when PFN said people should not protest in different locations but gather for prayers at state secretariats and hold the prayers in their churches, the RCCG Admin also released another circular updating members about the new developments as stated by PFN, so why the evil narrative that Adeboye called off the protest ?
We need to understand that the enemies have us exactly where they want us to be which is for us to be divided and insult those who have been appointed as Gatekeepers.
These evil doers carry out their evil, chanting praises to their god and even observe religious holidays and all, but we are not directing our anger to their Imams and their leaders. If their religion is truly a religion of peace, their leaders must take responsibility, start speaking up, lead protests because these evil people are also giving their religion a bad name.
The Government is responsible for security of lives and property not Pastor E.A. Adeboye !
The lies have gone on long enough. It stops now!!!
For far too long, Pastor E.A. Adeboye and The Redeemed Christian Church of God have been subjected to false narratives, deliberate misrepresentations, and misleading commentaries driven by personal interests and agenda setting.
