Our best principals were different. They cared—and because they cared, they acted. They didn’t wait for permission. They didn’t think “this isn’t my job.” They saw problems and solved them. They were difference makers. They knew their school was a student’s best, last, chance.
Our PES staff led choice learning sessions today. Staff were able to highlight their genius and staff were able to differentiate their learning. Everything from student leadership, math fluency, IEPs, and parent engagement!
This elementary school is the most improved in Houston.
They didn't get more money.
Funding wasn't the driver of improvement.
They got serious about improving student education & used innovative strategies to improve learning.
All schools can do this.

Success!! Our Perry Wildcats filled our Pride-o-meter with THOUSANDS of positive leadership acts this semester! Can’t wait to celebrate with a mini field day when we return in January!
This is a group of 3rd-5th graders working together on reading skills and vocabulary. This year we are working across grade levels to give kids what they need during our Wildcat hour.
On days when classes have perfect attendance Mr. Orange plays football with kids at recess. Such an easy and fun incentive that's motivating for our kids. 5th grade was perfect all week!
Might not look like much, but each week our wildcats pour all of their Perry Prides they earned for being leaders. Our goal is to fill our Pride-o-Meter!
Looks like that will be sooner than expected!
