KEDC’s U.S Dept of Ed. Innovative Arts Education Grant focusing on reviving artistic and intellectual activities throughout KEDC’s Member School Districts
🎨 March is Youth Art Month! 🎶
This month, we celebrate the creativity, imagination, and expression of students across every artistic discipline — from visual art and music to theater, dance, and beyond.
The arts give students a voice, build confidence, and help them see the world through new perspectives.
Here’s to the young artists who are creating boldly — and the educators who make it possible every day. @KEDCGrants@KEDC1

Teacher Leader Spotlight: Shelley Slade, Harrison County Schools
Renaissance Teacher Leader Shelley Slade has grown into a confident educator and leader, sharing innovative arts practices and collaborating with educators across Kentucky while advocating for meaningful arts experiences for all students.
"Because of Renaissance, I now see myself as a teacher "leader," and I find myself stepping up and stepping out of my comfort zone."

Amazing hand blown glass pieces by Stephen Rolfe Powell at the Glass National Art Museum in Danville. I had the privilege of visiting his studio when my Berea College sculpture class traveled to Centre College to observe him. @KedcARTS@KEDCGrants@DrJWEvansJr@KingWendy_m
🎨✨ Creativity in action this morning!
Our Renaissance Teacher Leaders spent the morning at the Art Center of the Bluegrass creating mosaic designs shaped like the state of Kentucky, and no two were alike. Each piece reflected a unique story, perspective, and personal connection to place.
Experiences like this remind us how powerful hands-on arts learning can be. Activities like mosaic storytelling are not only engaging and creative, but also easily adaptable for students to explore their community in meaningful ways.
A perfect reminder that the arts give every learner a voice — sometimes one tiny tile at a time. #ListenToYourART @KEDCGrants@KEDC1
Everything about the Art Center of the Bluegrass is a work of art! I enjoyed this wonderful opportunity provided by @KedcARTS@KEDCGrants to learn about mosaics and glasswork. @DrJWEvansJr@KingWendy_m

Today cadre’ was great! The Blue Guitar Effect is a powerful reminder that the arts teach us not just to create — but to truly see differently. @KedcARTS@KEDCGrants
