Voilaaaaaa 👏🏿👏🏿 Maybe now that others are recognising the logic *some people* will finally retire that take of calling us brainwashed for not wanting to change a winning team at the prime of their winning! Like who would logically do such a thing? Why vote against our interests to fulfill western norms?
As a believer, I think this situation clearly shows the difference between faith in Jesus and religion created by people ,something I keep saying again and again. This example makes that difference especially clear.
Statements about nurses or midwives being connected to witchcraft or satan create unnecessary fear. Constantly blaming satan for ordinary situations only gives evil more attention, importance and power than it deserves.
It also raises a simple question: why was an apology necessary only after the sermon received public criticism? If these words were truly believed to be a spiritual message, why apologize for them afterward @ZionKimironko?
Faith in Jesus should not be built on fear or suspicion, but on truth, wisdom, love and discernment.
There is a difference between following Jesus and accepting every teaching simply because it comes from a religious leader.
You know the funniest thing about Rwanda haters who are Rwandans (Nabyumva ari abandi)? They seem to want NOTHING good to happen to Rwanda. And honestly, that is what makes their fight so weak.
You can have legitimate differences with the leadership of a country. Challenge the policies. Point out what isn’t working. Tell voters what you would do differently and the solutions you would bring to address those challenges. That is a perfectly legitimate political position.
But when you look at everything good happening in Rwanda and your only response is, “Rwanda is still a poor country, so Rwanda can’t host F1” … Nyef Nyef Find some substance! 🤦🏽♀️
If your argument is simply to dismiss every achievement because you oppose the leadership, you’re not really making a strong case for anything. Bring substance. Challenge the policies. Present alternatives. But this constant need to downplay anything positive about Rwanda? VERY weak. 🙄

We want change. We no longer want our bodies to be a battlefield of perverts and misogynists.

As a woman I am extremely aware the only reason I have rights is because women before me got mouthy, organized, and made herself inconvenient. Thats why I see women who uphold the patriarchy as traitors
OUR BODIES ARE NOT A CRIME.
Women deserve dignity, bodily autonomy, safety and the freedom to move through public life without fear.
We reject the policing, harassment and violence against women in Rwanda.

Arguing with a misogynist feels a lot like arguing with a racist… it’s like you think you’re having a disagreement about one issue, then realize you’re actually arguing against an entire worldview that depends on seeing another group of people as inherently beneath them 😭
When I first came to Rwanda, I was told knees are sexy. Now apparently shoulders are too. Are these among the “intimate areas” to be “adequately covered”?
Meanwhile women are still waiting for clear actions to help stop the ongoing harassment we are experiencing.
An apology is not even asking a lot tbh.
Apologies is required, it is what the victims are owed.
Apology is very bare minimum.
Apology is the only accountability.
And then, ACTIONABLE CHANGE. Niko kazi ntakandi.
All of this is disheartening. I am sad for us women because literally for how long must we have to prove and explain our humanity and beg for accountability where it’s due.
Anyways day 5. Clock in!!
A memoir is about a slice of life with a compelling arc, not the entire autobiography of a century long existence. C’moooon!
Closing a chapter does not require reaching a certain age. It requires living through an experience, learning from it, & having the courage 2 share those lessons.
Allow this young lady 2 share. One’s memoir is not Gahunda ya Leta. We are not all required to subscribe. Si byo? Eh!
