@emulyHarsh I am just so sickened really by seeing working class people throw other working class people under the proverbial bus. Just because you are a higher income working class person does not mean the capitalists won't throw you under the bus with the poors too when the time comes.
If we spent as much energy into shaming billionaires for hoarding wealth as we did shaming poor parents for being victims of said billionaires exploitation... Maybe we could get somewhere. If you don't see capitalism as THE PROBLEM you are choosing the wrong side of history.
@Jeff_Aiello@MegRaeB California ag thrives on monoculture crops INCLUDING animals that use far more water than would have ever been available for that region of the US. Yet how much food is still being wasted? Farmers gotta accept some blame and sit at the problem solving table.
@Jeff_Aiello@MegRaeB 1. Regardless of intent, you come across as talking down to Meg. 2. Photosynthesis is not going to solve our problems when we are still seeing a net loss of native and naturalized land plants. 3. Have you ever considered that maybe the scale of cali ag IS PART OF THE PROBLEM
@MegRaeB She is nothing but a propaganda mouth piece... It is so sad to see how much worse things have gotten since I left. We have serious problems & the people are just covering their eyes & screaming like toddlers playing a blame game.
@kcbrookster That is absolutely a goal. However, we will continue to be hindered by a society who largely believes in a religion that preaches dominionism over the earth & animals. It isn't something that can be fixed in science class when culture enforces the idea that earth is ours to take.
Therapy is not a synonym for revolution. Our mental & emotional health is inherently political. Therapy can begin to disavow neutrality. It can return to its healing roots. It can begin to release yt colonial capitalist models of disease & pathology (🧵2/5)
Therapy is not a solution for oppression. We do not need to numb ourselves to the pain of oppression. We do not need to minimize our deep rage at injustice, nor muffle our sobs, nor shush our children when they “act out.”We do not need to minimize, nor normalize suffering (🧵1/5)
@vaneciarenee__ @heymrsbond I second this, I also have been called Lava Girl. I have one who tells me when my roots grow out and it fades to pink that I need to redo it LOL
In 3 minutes on Twitter dot com I have seen 4 tweets by people completely not knowing what communism is, but still using the word. The only person you are dunking on is yourself. Also literally LOLing @ people saying it's not possible to be to the left of AOC, kek
@LexiSimpsonn I am so sorry Lexi. When I lost my cat in July... I have never seen that side of myself. It still hurts really bad. Sending you lots of love 💕
If you live in Conroe, Montgomery County, or Harris County: did you know the San Jacinto river banks are lined with NG pipelines? The main water supply for the city of Houston has deteriorating pipelines LITERALLY running through it.
Focusing on spills draws attention to the MASSIVE amount of infrastructure carrying toxic fracking brine from place to place, criss crossing streams, rivers, groundwater, highways, and neighborhoods all over the US. All those pipes & tanks at "end of life," just waiting to spill
Here's an even more alarming view from TxRRC database. Those two red lines running along the SanJac? PIPELINES. Also, notice how many injection wells are close to our water supplies?
