A community in action! Shout-out to Tiffanie Willis and Vertical Absolute Practical Health for hosting an incredible Keep Arkansas Beautiful cleanup event!
Thank you to Mr. George Hollis, who organized litter cleanup events from March through May. With support from co-host Tamara Allen, Trice Family Rentals, Alon Gas Station, Augusta Litter Control, and the City of Augusta, more than 60 volunteers came together to make a difference.
Together, they collected 195 bags of litter, removing 1,980 pounds of waste from 47 miles of roadway, 25 miles of shoreline, 33 acres of public land and two illegal dumps. Their hard work helped make the town’s Riverwalk fully accessible to both foot and bike traffic.
A powerful community effort led by the South End Neighborhood Group, with coordinators Minnie Hatchett and Veronica Gregory, made a lasting impact during the Crump Park Cleanup!
This incredible cleanup included:
– 125 bags of litter collected
– 1,500 pounds of litter removed
– 15 miles of roadway cleaned
– 32 illegal dumps cleaned and reported
– 2 acres of land beautified
– 25 tires collected
– 60 pounds of materials sorted and recycled
Progress you can see: Arkansas is greener and healthier thanks to all who joined in to clean up, plant and restore our communities in 2024. Here’s to what we’ve achieved — together. #keepARbeautiful https://t.co/mRZ528RRtU
This dedicated crew went above and beyond, cutting grass, trimming trees, cleaning tombstones, removing debris, replacing flower arrangements and even resetting grave markers.
