if you happen to walk in and see clint having karaoke hour to the whole midnights album while making homemade waffles from scratch . . .
no you didn't.
He lifts a hand to catch the bag, promptly bringing it to his left cheekbone.
Letting out a soft sigh, he shuts his eyes and shrugs. "Occupational hazard," he echoes.
Look at 'em, just two tired Hawkeyes.
βYouβre one to talk.β
The freezer door shuts, and Kate emerges from the kitchen with two bags of frozen veggies. Tosses one to Clint.
βNo biggie. The usual Hawkeye occupation hazard.β
A wince as she presses it against her bruise.
βYou lookβ¦ like shit.β
Blinks.
" . . . Y' good, Katie?"
Not that he looks much better.
He's got cuts and bruises all over, and he looks like he's slept maybe an hour in the past three days.
@YAhawkeye - Sighing, he shuffles over to the sink as well to place his empty mug inside.
"The city's yours for the day, Hawkeye. Try not to destroy it."
@YAhawkeye Humming in slight amusement, he concedes with a small nod and sips his coffee.
"I know," he says. "I look like shit. More than usual."
He gives her a teasing smile. "Happens when you get old. Can't say I recommend it, though maybe the alternative's not much better." -
@YAhawkeye βThanks, Katie. But Iβll be lucky to get a few hours of peace. You know how New York is.β
He appreciates the offer nonetheless. He knows that the city is in good hands with Kate around. Even if his usual teasing says otherwise.
@YAhawkeye "Yeah," he nods. "Maybe. Could use a break."
Honestly, he could use more than a day off, but it's not like bad guys take breaks.
"Maybe two days. I dunno."
@YAhawkeye Nodding at her response, he simply leans against the counter and sips his own coffee.
He'll be more awake in a minute or two, once the coffee has kicked in. Until then, he has no words.
After a few minutes, he says, "Think 'm gonna take a day off."
