KEFEADO has since its registration in the year September 1994 as an NGO worked to enhance gender equality, equity & equal opportunity in the development sphere
Happy #RuralWomensDay! Thanks to the @USAIDDRG-funded Global Labor Program - #InclusiveFutures in Kenya, there are more women in rural communities farming and earning a living, and more women standing up for their rights. This is what inclusion looks like. https://t.co/vSOn6VBkfP
“Empowering women with disabilities in rural areas is not just about inclusion; it's about creating opportunities for economic independence and food security.” Masline Ngala on the importance of empowering #RuralWomen. Learn more: https://t.co/WC9a5jSCwq @Sightsavers@UDPKenya
We engaged in a movement building workshop convened by @akilidada and @KEFEADO that brought together women from different organisations to sensitize them on phases of movement, sources of power, movement strategies and actively engage them in leadership and decision making spaces
11/9/2024: TINADA joins Akili Dada and KEFEADO in a capacity-building session to empower young women, girls, and people with disabilities. The focus was on equipping them with skills to actively engage in leadership and decision-making in civil and political spaces.
@IDL_Labs was privileged to join a multisectoral meeting convened by @kefeado in a consortium w/@AkiliDada where we deliberated on issues affecting gender mainstreaming in the county; fast tracking the Kisumu SGBV policy; and instituting M&E for SGBV interventions

A denied conception of the past cripples discernment in the present and of the future. It's been 30years of inviting everyone to think and act differently in the quest for gender equality as a tool for sustainable development. https://t.co/O7w8U8UVEw
This has been the driving force behind the gender intergration method KEFEADO uses to reach out to Woman and Man of all cadres in life.
We welcome you to celebrate #ThreeDecadesOfChange : Advancing Equality as we #ReflectInThePast during #KEFEADO@30.
In celebrating collaborations and forging sustained partnerships we draw from an African philosophy of the southern African people "Umuntu Ngumuntu Ngabantu" A person is a person through recognizing other's personhood. #KEFEADOat30#ThreeDecadesOfChange@AkiliDada@fidakenya
In her words, " I saw certain cultural beliefs and practices as blocking this world I dreamt of, at the same time I saw men as crucial partners in addressing these biased socialization processes, and ensuring the attainment of gender equality plus adherence to human rights."
Gender and power norms have shaped the perception and expectation of men and they look down upon women and girls in the community and thus we need to do more community dialogues to influence decision making and behaviour change.

We are deeply troubled by the constant rise of femicide cases in the country. We must collectively raise our voices to speaking out against patriarchal oppression and the issue of growing numbers of femicide cases. #EndFemicideKE#Stopvictimblaming
Day 10 of #16DaysOfActivism , we gather with gender champions from @masenoUnikenya to demystify Gender Based Violence, critically looking at bystander strategies students can use to whistle blow GBV cases in campus.
