Was the loss or theft reported immediately upon discovery?

Did any security lapse contribute to the firearm ending up in criminal hands?

What measures will be taken to prevent similar incidents involving licensed firearms?

These are matters of public interest.

A transparent investigation is essential to establish the facts and maintain public confidence in firearm accountability and the justice system.

According to the police account, the judge says the last time he physically checked the weapon was in October 2025, when he intended to renew his firearm licence, but he later forgot to complete the renewal process.
