@_drivers_united@LorenaSGonzalez#NoOnProp22 This is a MUST READ write-up I did on the significance of California ballot initiative Proposition 22. Prop 22 is a weapon created by Uber, Lyft, and DoorDash lawyers to undermine 150 years of labor law. https://t.co/iImWxbdJ8q
I'm taking part in Mpow's fantastic MPods lucky draw and I'll get another chance to win if you successfully register an account on the Mpow website – so please do ASAP! https://t.co/WbEzQfuMck
“Our right to vote must be protected.”
In today’s @ajc, voting rights advocates took out a full-page ad with the names and contact details for top Georgia corporate executives urging them to oppose new election restrictions moving through the Legislature. #gapol
Fun to play the PROP 22 DECEPTION game. Remember those great commercials about how Prop 22 was going to help workers and keep prices low? LOLOLOLOL - I win by posting this article. Anyone else wanna play? @_drivers_united https://t.co/L52djl4OLa

@DavidBrianJoll1@_drivers_united@LorenaSGonzalez Dude... if you have no control over pay like us, you are not an independent contractor. What you're saying is nonsense. These opportunities... are opportunities for companies to offload the costs of having an employee onto the worker, but still use the worker as an employee.
@DavidBrianJoll1@nicoemoe You realize we're only talking about rideshare drivers and app-based delivery workers, right? You still have not read the article. Independent contractors can set their prices. We can't do that. Never have. Read the article.
@nicoemoe After Prop 22 goes into effect Jan 1, will the EDD still be able to independently determine the employment status of a gig worker using the EDD's own criteria? Will the EDD still be able to determine that rideshare drivers are "common law" employees?
