@chirembaPT We need more compliance checks and health and safety protocols for public utilities. Eg. are passenger manifests audited, emergency & evacuation instructions given out? We have massive gaps as a country and it’s ok for gvt. to acknowledge it. So many avoidable deaths.
@sabzsgizo@keddah83 Agreed. Gvt also needs to review those “transaction taxes” or digital services taxes etc. etc. Current system punishes everyone operating in a formal space for deficiencies in the overall tax enforcement structure of the country.
@bla_bidza Should that statement not be included in the minister’s footnotes/highlights at presentation for clarity since it’s such a glaring red flag. Instead of this reactionary statement because the public actually does care about how its money is spent?
@tangawafunga @ZolemaMunwenga Rightly said. In “normal” airlines a cancellation warrants a refund, next alternative flight/airline. In this case you’re at the mercy of AirZim. The cost & risk is too high. PTSD factors too here.
@fastjet new A320 wet lease from Global Aviation. ZS-GAC formerly flew for Lyft (see tail). The temporary branding is tastefully done, & would pass for a limited edition livery. How it’s done 😍👏🏿
@maguranyanga@FlyAirZimbabwe Sure, the wet lease on the A330 is temporary. The comment is largely to overall Air Zim brand work which needs an overhaul. Across all touchpoints so it’s not so dated. Optics matter in consumer decisions. We can agree Air Zim desperately needs good positioning for viability.
@Mr_Ngubeni@FlyAirZimbabwe Sure the wet lease on A330 is temporary, the comment is largely on the overall Air Zim brand. An overhaul/update is due, no?
@thabanimnyama I agree with you. I’d assume due diligence was done to ensure max load factors to cover leasing cost etc.
But, optics matter too. Moreso where the airline requires appeal above the “direct flight to London” USP. It plays a lot on how consumers will choose UM over EK.
EFF statement on the extension of Zimbabwe President Emmerson Mnangagwa's term of office
—The EFF believes that the people of Zimbabwe cannot be held hostage indefinitely by a governing party. True revolutionaries understand that political power belongs to the people and that leadership is exercised on their behalf, not over them. Any government that fears returning to the people for a fresh democratic mandate is one that is certain it has lost the will of the people and should face the consequences or commit to better leadership.
