Genuinely saddened to hear the news today of #KevinKeegan illness. I met him a number of times during his tenure as #England Manager and he came across as a likeable, decent man. Such news always holds a major resonance for me when it involves sportsmen.
On this day 22nd May 1987 and the ships arrival in #Southampton and the end of my year long mature gap year! 32 countries visited and genuine friends made. The highlight, the 2 visits to #Rio during carnival. A fun year and the best thing of all, it didn’t cost me a penny.
On this day, 39 years ago and my final evenings ‘work’ aboard the Russian cruise ship Belorussiya as we sail from St.Malo to Southampton. An invite from the first officer to join him on the bridge when we pass #Guernsey C.I. an island dear to me with family ties. 🇬🇬
1980’s Cruise Ship Photographer and after a year working on board I have just the one more port of call at St.Malo in a few days before returning to UK. #Bordeaux today however, and still time for one more ‘party night’.
@Official_STFC Shaun Taylor and a shot taken of his winning goal v Bristol Rovers in the 95/6 promotion season. Duly autographed of course and enjoying the season end party with him. And a more recent pic at an STFC event, looking well and on form with the mic. Top man.
@alanbrazil My very best wishes for a full recovery Alan. I always enjoy meeting up with you on the eve of the Cheltenham festival when the team broadcast from Jonjo’s stables. Make it a target to get there again in 2027.
On this date in 1987 and sailing later this evening from Genoa for my final cruise after a year as a Cruise Ship Photographer. In my cabin with new ‘trackie’ and tan!
#LiberationDayGuernsey 2026 today, and wishing everyone on the island a happy day. The pic is of my Grandparents,Aunts,Uncles and my Dad (standing far left) taken in Salisbury 1941 after their evacuation from home in #StPeterPort. 🇬🇬
On this day in 1987 and free time to top up the tan in the lovely port of #Valetta#Malta with the pax ashore for the day on excursions, and fellow photographer Hugh covering their trip.
#1980’s Cruise Ship Photographer
A day in Piraeus yesterday before two days at sea heading back to Venice at the end of this cruise. Just the two cruises left now before I conclude this 1980’s mature ‘gap year’ and jump ship in Southampton. Some great visits and itinerary’s left yet. 👍🏻
Cruise ship Photographer in the 1980s, and Lesbos yesterday with the ship docked in the background and a hop and skip across to Piraeus today 26th April.
The ship, Bellorussiya only two thirds full, so plenty of free time.
1980’s Cruise Ship Photographer and consecutive days in the old UdSSR in venturing around Yalta and Odessa. Fascinating and more than a little sad to see what is happening to the two City’s now in 2026.
